The GM Authority Take
With the slight increase in Chevrolet Chile sales in June, the Bow Tie brand has regained its growth path and its typical leadership position in the Chilean market after momentarily losing it to Toyota in May. The increase in June was the result of improved inventory of models imported from Brazil.
June’s increase was driven by the strong performance of the Chevy Tracker, with the subcompact crossover registering a large, triple-digit increase that allowed it to become the marque’s best-selling model for the second consecutive month. The Tracker was also Chevy’s most popular model in the year-to-date running total, while also being only 23 units short from leading the entire Chilean market. The Tracker became.
However, the models that previously were Chevrolet’s best-sellers in the South American country – the Chevy Sail and Chevy Groove – maintained significant double-digit declines,
For its part, the Chevy Colorado/S10 registered a healthy increase that also contributed to Chevy’s growth in June. The midsize pickup truck was also green during the first half of the 2022 calendar year.
