The GM Authority Take

The healthy recovery in GM Mexico sales during April comes on the heels of a double-digit decline in March. In this way, the automaker stabilizes its sales volume and begins to show signs of recovery in the Mexican market thanks to recent launches in key segments. The results represent GM Mexico’s second increase in sales volume thus far this year, after a slight increase in February, when the automaker managed to end seven consecutive months of declines.

Chevy Aveo

A total of 15 nameplates across GM’s four brands managed to post increases in sales during April, including the popular Chevy Aveo, which consolidates its position as the company’s best-selling vehicle in the local market. It also highlights the solid commercial performance of the Chevy Captiva, which leads the compact crossover segment and is the second-best-selling utility vehicle in the country – both in April as well as during the first four months of the year. In addition, all Cadillac models were in the green, while GMC‘s strong increase was led by the Terrain.

Chevy Captiva

April also marked the launch of the new Chevy S10 Max and Bolt EUV in Mexican market. The S10 Max registered its first 587 deliveries during the first weeks of being on sale, and is projected to become a strong contender in the midsize pick-up truck segment, according to these figures.
