The GM Authority Take

The significant double-digit increase in Chevrolet Brazil sales during June extends the Bow Tie brand’s positive performance, marking its third consecutive monthly sales gain in the Brazilian market after the two percent increase in April and the 47 percent growth in May. However, the 19,113 deliveries in June represent a downturn compared to the 25,360 units sold during May, causing Chevy to take the third position among the best-selling automobile brands in Brazil.

The healthy growth rate during June was led by the Bow Tie’s best sellers – the Chevy Onix, and Chevy Tracker. While the Onix posted solid year-over-year sales, it lost the momentum it had in May as Brazil’s top-selling car, and was overtaken by the Hyundai HB20 as well as other models from competing brands. The Tracker, meanwhile, saw the most notable increase last month with a healthy 437 percent increase.

In addition, the Chevy Cruze added incremental volume, experiencing a triple-digit growth rate in June as well as during the first six months of the 2022 calendar year.
