GM sales decreased by 15 percent to 582,269 units during the second quarter of 2022 in the United States. Sales decreased at all four GM brands, including Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC.
“GM’s sales and market share have grown each of the last three quarters, even with lingering supply chain disruptions,” said GM Executive Vice President and President, North America, Steve Carlisle, in a statement. “Our long-term momentum will continue to build thanks to the launches of groundbreaking new EVs like the GMC Hummer EV and Cadillac Lyriq, and the tremendous customer response to the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra,” he added.

GM vehicle production was strong during the second quarter and the company finished the month with 247,839 vehicles in dealer inventory, including units in-transit to dealers

Total sales of the GMC Canyon grew 40 percent while those of the GMC Terrain grew 37 percent during the quarter
The GMC Sierra HD, which was up 31 percent during the quarter, delivered its best second quarter and first half on record
Electric vehicle sales surpassed 7,300 units, including some of the first deliveries of the BrightDrop Zevo 600 and GMC Hummer EV Pickup, as well as the resumption of Chevrolet Bolt EV and Bolt EUV production and sales
GM will gradually increase production of the Cadillac Lyriq and GMC Hummer EV Pickup in the second half of 2022
Production of the Chevrolet Bolt EV and Bolt EUV resumed on April 4th. Chevrolet dealers continue to repair customer vehicles and recently resumed deliveries of some completed Bolt EV and Bolt EUV units in inventory
Buick down almost 57%. Wow. Malibu up 563% as they started building them again. but would be on track to sell over 100k for the year. % increase can be very deceiving based factory shutdown & chip allocations.
Comments
Bolt sales are pretty strong given they just restarted manufacturing in April.
Every car they make increased. Maybe we shouldn’t have gone all in on the crossover craze….
Just sayin, I’d like to see more sedan models.
I guess that with the Camaro sales way up they better dump the crossover. Also keep the ICE cars.😂
Bring on the factory rebates. Wishful thinking, I know.
Recession on the way. It’s gonna be a rough few years ahead.

If I’m not mistaken I think the Malibu outsold the Camry for the month..
Crappy company crappy sales
Not surprised since they have nothing on the lots to sell!
Having no inventory on hand for customers to purchase will do that for you!
Lol someone posted a GM informercial on why sedans are out but the ultra profitable EVs like the Bolt twins still exist.
