The GM Authority Take

Not only does the substantial, three-digit increase in Chevrolet Brazil sales during July 2022 maintain the Bow Tie brand’s positive path in the Brazilian market, but it also represents its best monthly sales performance so far this year. To wit, last month’s 27,938 deliveries tops the previous record of 25,360 units reported in May, marking Chevrolet’s fourth consecutive increase in the Brazilian market. This significant improvement in sales volume is the result of a substantial recovery in inventory levels of some of Chevy’s popular models in the South American country.

Once again, Chevrolet’s strong performance in Brazil during July was highlighted by strong results from the highly popular Chevy Onix and Chevy Tracker. The Onix had its best month so far in 2022, adding 14,878 units year-over-year to its sales total while regaining its position as Brazil’s best-selling vehicle in July thanks to an evident improvement in local production volumes. Meanwhile, the Tracker registered a huge four-digit increase, ending the month as the most popular utility vehicle in the Brazilian market.

Similarly, the Chevy Cruze and Chevy Spin also posted healthy sales gains in July, contrasting the drop experienced by the S10, TrailBlazer and several discontinued nameplates.
