The GM Authority Take

October represents the ninth consecutive sales decrease for Chevrolet Mexico, as demand for passenger cars has been spiraling downwards in the country for the past 31 months. As such, the performance of General Motors’ main brand in the Mexican market is in line with the results obtained by rival brands as well as the industry as a whole, which has suffered significant declines in car sales in recent months.

Chevrolet Silverado/Cheyenne Regular Cab

The vast majority of Chevrolet models in Mexico registered negative figures in October, all of them posting double-digit drops with the exception of the Chevrolet Beat, whose sales declined by nine percent. The Chevrolet Aveo, the brand’s strongest seller in the country, saw its sales decrease significantly both in October and over the first ten months of 2019.

On the other hand, four nameplates have so far managed to increase their sales figures year after year – the Chevrolet Equinox, Silverado, Tahoe and Trax. The big winner is the Chevrolet Cheyenne / Silverado, registering the highest growth rate and obtained its third increase in sales this year. In addition, October ended up being the second-best month for sales of the new Chevrolet Blazer in Mexico after July – with 170 units delivered.
