The GM Authority Take
Once again, GM Mexico sales increased healthily during April and further expanded the company’s positive performance in the Latin American country. Last month’s solid double-digit increase represents the 15th consecutive monthly increase for the automaker in the Mexican market, where it also seriously increased its level of competitiveness by positioning itself for the first time in a long time at less than 1,000 units difference from the traditional leader Nissan Motors—which sold a total of 18,176 units in the month.
The good commercial performance of GM’s Mexican subsidiary in April was driven by a series of widespread increases in the model portfolio, mainly Chevrolet. The most notable increases include the substantial rise of the best-selling all-new 2024 Chevy Aveo and a drastic increase in the Chevy Silverado lineup, which again recorded a high-volume month that cements it as the country’s best-selling full-size pickup. In fact, the entire truck line also once again registered notable increases in its deliveries.
Additionally, it is worth mentioning the notable increases in other nameplates, such as the Chevy S10 Max, Chevy Onix, and Chevy Groove, as well as the triple-digit increases in models such as the Chevy Colorado and Chevy Cavalier. While the company’s most recent launches continue to increase their level of popularity and add notable numbers to the overall performance, led by the all-new Chevy Trax, Chevy Montana, Buick Envista, and GMC Canyon.
