The 2024 Chevy Equinox is the seventh model year for the current third-gen crossover, introducing just a handful of small changes over the 2023 model year. In addition, the 2024 Chevy Equinox is also the final model year for the nameplate’s third generation. Now, GM Authority is taking a closer look at what the 2024 Chevy Equinox has to offer, focusing on the different paint options on the table.
The 2024 Chevy Equinox is offered with eight different exterior paint options total. Most are offered as no-cost options, while two of them cost a little extra. The two extra-cost paint options include Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (paint code G1W, $995) and Radiant Red Tintcoat (paint code GNT, $495). Each of the eight exterior hues is available for the LT, RS, and Premier trim levels, while only five of the options are available for the base LS.

Per previous GM Authority coverage, the official 2024 Chevy Equinox online configurator tool is now available at Chevrolet’s website. The 2024 Chevy Equinox RS and 2024 Chevy Equinox LT are more expensive than their 2023 model-year equivalents due to the inclusion of additional standard features, with the RS now $250 more expensive, and the LT now $1,795 more expensive.
As for what’s under the skin, the 2024 Chevy Equinox features the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine as the exclusive powerplant option. Output is rated at 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. The 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine was introduced to the Chevy Equinox lineup for the 2023 model year, replacing the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX gasoline engine offered previously. Output is routed through the GM six-speed automatic transmission, with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive onboard to put the power down.
The GM D2 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.

Iridescent pearl tricoat is my favorite. I had a Ford Fusion Hybrid in that color and loved it. The Sterling Gray metallic is cool also, looks just like Pa. State Police cruisers and SUV’s.
I am still waiting for our 2023 Equinox we ordered in December 2022. No delivery yet
keep waiting, IN NJ lots are full, you just have a lousy salesman.
Are you in the US? Are there many dealers in your area? Something is very wrong. My local dealer has 8 on his lot right now.
I am in Ottawa Canada. It is a loaded premium pearl model. It has been made in Mexico but no truck drivers to ship it. There are models available but not the one I want. May have to order a 2024 soon
I understand. Most cars are shipped by rail, usually they are only trucked a few hundred miles. I think I would be tempted to get a 2024 since it’s getting late in the model year. Good luck!
wouldn’t GM just change your order to a 24 automatically?
We just bought a new 2024 off the lot here in Michigan!
GM did a fantastic job in changing the Chevy Trax in 2024 but it is truly a shame that they aren’t offering this vehicle in AWD. By only offering this newly redesigned vehicle in Front Wheel Drive only, GM has pretty much killed off this model. I only hope that in 2025 an AWD option is available because if so the dealers won’t be able to keep them on there lots.
I agree with most of what you said. They already can’t keep them on the shelf in FWD mode. My dream Trax would be EV AWD for $35,000.
“By only offering this newly redesigned vehicle in Front Wheel Drive only, GM has pretty much killed off this model.”
This is a laughable statement. Another article today on this site showed the Trax is the fastest selling vehicle in the US for the last 2 months in a row. If you want AWD, GM has the Trailblazer for a few thousand more than the Trax.
I ordered a 2023 Equinox in January hoping for June delivery. GM stopped production in April and switched to 2024. I accepted the change. My Car was apparently built in late June or early July. It is now end of October and I am told it is still in Mexico.I am 81 and have driven GM almost exclusively all my life. I am now told it might be end of November. I would really like an explanation from GM.
