The GM Authority Take
The significant increase in Chevrolet Colombia sales in August 2022 continues the positive performance of the bowtie brand, representing its fifth consecutive month of gains in the South American country. Chevy was only second in total sales volume to Renault, which registered 799 more units during the month. Chevrolet is continuing to struggle to regain its leadership in the Colombian market despite having the highest growth rate in recent months.
Chevy’s performance was led by a significant increase in Chevy Onix sales, which has become the country’s best-selling vehicle. The nameplate posted a substantial triple-digit increase, largely dominating the local market thanks to the popularity of the first two generations of the vehicle being sold simultaneously, much like in other South American countries.
Also worth highlighting is the strong performance of the Chevy Tracker and the N-Series line of heavy trucks.
In addition, the Chevy Blazer, Colorado and NHR also achieved notable year-over-year sales increases, contributing to Chevy’s strong overall performance.

Comments
Who is buying them…most of the Columbian’s have joined their S. American brothers at our southern border.
I find it amazing that GM has chips to build vehicles in other countries, but yet our sales are constrained due to chips not being available. Maybe if Mary’s head wasn’t so far up Biden’s behind and were using the chips for vehicles that actually sell instead of rerouting them to all these EVs that are going to fall flat when there is major disaster, much like in Florida where there are millions without power – where exactly are they charging up their Teslas and other EVs? And what happens when your car runs out of juice, you can’t call AAA for 5 gallons of watts to get you to the next charging station. And don’t get me started on if you actually use your electric truck to tow anything, that’ll cut your range by almost 50%. But this administration thinks this is the future. Have you seen who’s in charge?
