The GM Authority Take

After two consecutive months of gains during June and July, Chevrolet Chile sales recorded a double-digit drop in August. This decrease is the result of a drastic drop in volume of Chevy’s best-selling model in August 2021 as well as the loss in momentum of vehicles manufactured in Brazil.

Chevy Groove

In particular, the most notable and significant drop that impacted Chevrolet Chile in August was that of the Chevy Groove. The brand’s smallest crossover lost 1,535 units compared to August 2021, which represents the highest number the model’s monthly sales performance to date. However, the 446 Groove sales in August 2022 represent an improvement over previous months with lower inventory levels.

Chevy Sail

Although the Chevy Sail again suffered a decline in sales, it also saw healthy gains over prior months, regaining its position as Chevy’s best-selling vehicle during the month. The Chevy Tracker, meanwhile, was the brand’s second best-selling model in August, while remaining its most popular during the first eight months of the year.
