Chevrolet Chile Sales Grow 11 Percent In April 2022

Chevrolet Chile sales increased 11 percent to 3,228 units in April 2022. The figures place Chevrolet as the country’s best-selling automobile brand during the month.

Chilean auto sales figures are limited, as reporting only shows the best-selling models in each segment. As such, no sales data is available for vehicles that sell in lower volumes. Nevertheless, individual Chevy model sales performance (for models for which sales data is available) was as follows:

In addition to the models specified, Chevrolet also markets the following vehicles in Chile:

The GM Authority Take

The increase in Chevrolet Chile sales during April continues the positive trend seen in March, when the Bow Tie brand recorded its first volume increase for the 2022 calendar year, thereby ending five months of contraction in the Chilean market. As a result, the April results represent the second consecutive month of sales gains for Chevrolet thus far in 2022.

Chevy’s solid performance last month in Chile was fueled by healthy growth in Chevy Sail and N400 sales, as well as a better record for the Chevy Onix, which began to grow in popularity in the country this year. In fact, the subcompact ended the month as Chevy’s brand’s best-selling model due to the dramatic sales drop of the Chevy Sail, which lost 832 units month-over-month. Even so, the Sail remained the Bow Tie brand’s best-seller during the first four months of the year.

Chevy Sail

In a similar fashion, the Chevy Groove continues to face low levels of local inventory, preventing it from meeting high demand while continuing its initial trajectory as the fastest-growing vehicle in Chile.
