2024 GMC Yukon & Yukon XL: Here’s What’s New And Different

The 2024 GMC Yukon represents the fourth model year of the fifth-gen full-size SUV range, for which it receives five relatively minor changes. These changes include three new exterior colors and two changes to the packages.

Starting with the exterior, the 2024 Yukon and Yukon XL sees the deletion of the Redwood Metallic exterior color. In fact, GM Authority reported earlier this year that it would soon be the last opportunity to order the Yukon in this color.

The discontinuation of Redwood Metallic leaves the following nine exterior colors in the Yukon’s color lineup:

  • White Frost Tricoat
  • Titanium Rush Metallic
  • Frosted Pine Metallic
  • Summit White
  • Onyx Black
  • Pearl Beige Metallic
  • Midnight Blue Metallic
  • Volcanic Red Tintcoat
  • Sterling Metallic

Additionally, two wheel options that were previously not available on the Denali Ultimate can now be equipped on the range-topping trim level. The two wheel options in question are:

  • 22-inch, six-spoke Carbon Flash Metallic aluminum wheels with Carbon Grey Metallic accents (SIY)
  • 22-inch Multi-spoke Gloss Black wheels (LPO, SGM)

Finally, the package changes mentioned earlier entail the 2024 Yukon range adding two different OnStar plans as standard. SLE, SLT and AT4 trims add three years of OnStar Remote Access, while Denali and Denali Ultimate add the OnStar Premium Plan.

OnStar Remote Access features:

  • Remote start, lock, and unlock
  • Vehicle health check
  • Roadside assistance
  • Alexa voice command

OnStar Premium Plan features:

Both packages were optional on the 2023 Yukon.

As a reminder, the 2024 GMC Yukon range continues to be offered as a full-size five-door SUV (Yukon) and extended-length full-size five-door SUV (Yukon XL) across the following trim levels:

  • SLE
  • SLT
  • AT4
  • Denali
  • Denali Ultimate

The 2024 Yukon family carries over its two gasoline V8 engines and one straight six turbo-diesel Duramax engine from the 2021, 2022 and 2023 model years.

Looking ahead, big updates are on the way for the refreshed 2025 Yukon and 2025 Yukon XL. We expect the refreshed model to bring a slew of noteworthy updates such as revamped front and rear fascias, a revamped cockpit with a larger infotainment screen, a new set of wheels with a 24-inch option and a new diesel engine. We also expect the new turbo-diesel Duramax engine to be offered on the AT4 trim level for the first time. It’s worth noting that these updates were initially expected for 2024, but were pushed back to 2025.

The updates and changes described here are specific to the U.S. market and may be different for other markets.
