The 2023 GMC Yukon is the third model year for the latest fifth-generation SUV, offering a few updates and changes compared to the preceding 2022 model year. For those customers interested in owning a 2023 GMC Yukon or Yukon XL in Redwood Metallic paint, the time to act is now, as the last chance to order the full-size SUV in that particular color is arriving soon. It’s unclear at this time if Redwood Metallic paint will be offered for the 2024 model year.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the last order cycle for a 2023 GMC Yukon or Yukon XL in Redwood Metallic (paint code G48) starts on August 3rd, 2023. Redwood Metallic will be built out after the week of September 18th.
Redwood Metallic paint is offered across the 2023 GMC Yukon lineup, including all trim levels and configurations. The paint is available for an extra $495. Redwood Metallic was first introduced to the GMC Yukon lineup in conjunction with the 2022 model year, bringing the paint offerings up to nine total for 2022.
At this point, it’s unclear if Redwood Metallic will be offered for the upcoming 2024 GMC Yukon. As GM Authority has covered extensively in the past, the 2024 GMC Yukon will introduce a mid-cycle enhancement, also known as a refresh, complete with a long list of updates and changes.
As for the 2023 GMC Yukon, engine options include the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine. The GM T1 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
Looking ahead, the refreshed 2024 GMC Yukon will introduce revised exterior styling, an overhauled cabin, new tech features, and the new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine as a replacement for the 3.0L I6 LM2 offered currently.
