GM Authority has learned that the 2025 Cadillac XT4 will include the Active Safety Package (RPO code AS2) as standard on Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels. Previously, this package was available as a $1,825 option for the 2024 Cadillac XT4 Premium Luxury and Sport. The package includes a long list of high-tech features.
The content of the Active Safety Package remains unchanged from the 2024 model year, and includes the following (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- Adaptive Cruise Control (KSG)
- Automatic Speed Limit Assist (ISA)
- Enhanced Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning (UKM)
- HD Surround Vision (UXP)
- Rear Pedestrian Alert (UKK)
- Side Bicyclist Alert (UOW)
- Traffic Sign Recognition (UVX)
- Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking (UGN)
- Reverse Automatic Braking (UVZ)
- Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking (CTB)
Notably, the base Luxury trim level will no longer be offered for the 2025 model year, positioning the Premium Luxury as the new entry-level trim. This move is similar to the strategy used for the 2025 Cadillac CT5 sedan. With this change, the base price for the 2025 Cadillac XT4 is expected to be close to $45,000.
The 2025 XT4 will also carry forward the enhancements introduced with the 2024 mid-cycle refresh. These updates include a redesigned front fascia highlighted by a new grille and LED headlights. In back is a tweaked rear fascia with dual through-fascia exhaust outlets. The refresh also introduces three new paint colors: Emerald Lake Metallic, Midnight Sky Metallic, and Deep Sea Metallic.
Inside, the XT4 features an overhauled cabin with a new 33-inch, 9K-resolution LED color touchscreen, as well as 5G Wi-Fi hotspot capability, an available 14-speaker AKG audio system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
With regard to the mechanicals, the XT4 cradles the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, riding on the GM E2 platform. Production of the 2025 Cadillac XT4 is set to begin on June 3rd, 2024, at the GM Fairfax Assembly plant in Kansas City following the end of 2024 model-year production on May 31st, 2024. As GM Authority covered previously, Cadillac XT4 production will be paused next year to facilitate retooling for production of the next-generation Chevy Bolt EV.

Dropping the Luxury trim is a mistake. It’s the one model we sell a lot of the entry trim. Also puts the starting price on par with the XT5 until it’s redesigned.
“You will buy what we choose to build. You will have no choice in the matter.” gm business model.
The base price of the 2024 model is a primary reason for lackluster sales, forcing consumers to spend more on a more expensive base model is a mistake. The XT4 isn’t very competitive in its segment to begin with, the Buick Envision is essentially the same vehicle with a much more competitive base price. I was waiting for the delayed 2024 refresh, it was more expensive than the outdated 2023. The update was needed just to remain relevant, the 2025 will have a short model year to allow for the retooling in KC at the Fairfax plant for the next Chevy Bolt. The CT4 didn’t receive the instrument panel upgrade like the CT5 this year, Cadillac is falling further behind competitors. It looks like the Lyric will soon be the entry level vehicle for Cadillac, if modest updates of current ICE models keep going up in price. I’m not sure what the logic is? Cadillac has been inconsistent with its neglect of entry to midstream level segments. When the Chevy Trax outsells the entire Cadillac lineup during the latest quarterly results that should send up a red flag at Cadillac. Sales are hurting when the entire division gets outsold by only one model at Chevy. Not everyone is interested in an Escalade, considering the entire Cadillac ICE lineup is outdated except the Escalade. More consumers would consider buying a Cadillac if it was priced comparably with other luxury brands. Hopefully GM can figure out a way to save Cadillac from it’s demise, it seems to be failing like Buick. With fewer divisions to manage, it shouldn’t be out of the question to expect GM to stay competitive. I hope it’s not the same old story of “Too little, too late” for the prized division. The GM EV offerings are promising, but the transition to electric will be longer than expected. Meanwhile domestic brands must still offer updated ICE vehicles to remain profitable, neglecting remaining models would be a mistake.
Agreed with BB comments, GM issue, is always wait and see.
S0 TRUE ! I HAD A CADILLAC XT4 SPORT, IT’S REALLY NOT THAT GREAT OF A VEICLE COMPAIRED TO SOME OUTHER BRANDS . LOOKS GREAT ! NICE SIZE! CADILLAC MISSED ON THIS ONE!!
Wife wants to upgrade from 2020 Equinox to XT4. Guess we will try to find a 2024 equipped as she likes, rather than a 2025 with thi$ former option package we do not want or need. gm keeps building what they want you to buy, even if it forces you out of the market to a competitor. I am a lifetime, loyal gm customer & they make harder every year with less choices with unwanted options at higher prices. Sad.
At $1800, the Active Safety Package should have standard from the start. I would even say the $700 Active Damping suspension should be standard as well. Otherwise, this car should be a Chevy or Buick. Cadillac is losing because they don’t offer enough in their vehicles.
Cadillac XT4 is a good looking car.The XT4 does not stack up to its competitors. BMW,AUDI ,MERCEDES. Cadillacs software is dated and their standard features do not compare to the competition. Cadillac is loosing it
