2024 GMC Yukon And Yukon XL Get This 22-Inch Chrome Wheel Option Back

The 2024 GMC Yukon gains only a few small updates and changes over its 2023 model year counterpart, and GM Authority has learned that one such change is the return of a set of 22-inch chrome wheels, now available for the Yukon and Yukon XL.

The 22-inch Multi-spoke Chrome wheels are tagged with RPO code SSI, and are available on the 2024 GMC Yukon and 2024 GMC Yukon XL SLE, SLT and Denali trim levels. They were originally added for the 2022 model year, but become available due to supplier constraints in October 2021, and remained unavailable since then. The wheels cost $3,795, and are shipped with a set of factory-installed locks. However, the wheels themselves are an LPO-level, or dealer-installed, option.

As a reminder, when an LPO-level wheel is selected, the GMC Yukon or Yukon XL in question leaves the factory on a set of 22-inch steel wheels, and the vehicle’s suspension is aligned to the proper specifications to accommodate the 22-inch Chrome wheels. Then, once the vehicle reaches its destination dealer, the transit wheels are swapped out and sent back to the factory.

The new 22-inch Chrome wheels join an already generous list of wheel choices available for the 2024 GMC Yukon, which include 18-inch, 20-inch and, of course, 22-inch options. However, it’s worth noting that four of these are currently unavailable, all of which are optional 22-inch sets.

As a reminder, the GMC Yukon is offered with three powertrain options, including the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque; the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque; and finally, the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.

Under the skin, the Yukon is underpinned by the GM T1 platform. Production is handled at the GM Arlington plant in Texas, where production of the 2024 model year kicked off late last year.

  1. After 30+ years of buying a Suburban/Yukon Denali every year, I must complain. Why I can’t get my requested options without the Super Cruise Pkge is not good. Don’t want a self navigation system that cannot be disarmed. Will not buy!
