  1. I’ve seen the Elevation over onto the interwebs video lyberry. It does not scream “BASE MODEL”, with a decent looking exterior trim do-up and a perfectly fine standard wheel. An AWD Elevation with paint (I still cannot believe I have to say “paint” on a GMC) and interior protection package rings up almost $20k cheaper than a dud Blazer EV RS AWD, which is smaller and infinitely less useful than this psychologically safe-sized new GMC. Suddenly, mid-$40k for a vehicle this size seems like a bargain. But get one early, this introductory pricing won’t last long!

  2. when will these be in dealerships may?

  3. So a fully loaded Denali will push $65k with all the bells and whistles…..insane!!!!

The automobile industry is out of hand. I will keep my 21 Traverse Redline instead…

    1. A Yukon Denali starts at 75k and there are plenty of options to add including going with the Ultimate package which is 90k, that unfortunately is the price these days. With midsize trucks starting at nearly 40k, compact CUV’s starting at nearly 30k, seems inline even though I am not going to like it thinking about prices just 5+ years ago.

    2. OK then. A Grand Highlander Hybrid Max Platinum AWD includes the pano roof and everything else and costs $59,870 (including destination). Slightly more than the base Denali. However, after adding paint costs, the Denali Reserve Package, and Super Cruise Package (both needed to get the pano roof and technology features of the GH Max Platinum), the Denali comes out to $64,315 — and about the only thing extra you get is Super Cruise for that money. Whoop-dee-do, who cares.

That’s $4,445 more expensive than the equivalent Grand Highlander. It costs LESS money to get more power (400 lb-ft of torque!), and yet, better MPG than the equivalent Acadia! Super Cruise isn’t worth that price of admission.

I can’t believe a Toyota for the prices they command is offering more value for the money than GM. Simply outrageous.

And you can say what you will, but the market says that Toyota will easily be $5,000 more in resale 10 years from now vs. the equivalent Acadia.

      1. You can’t find a grand highlander hybrid max for under $65K (markup) and some pushing $68K

      2. You aren’t serious when you say toyota is offering more value than acadia?? They have best interiors than compared to grand highlander, new acadia has auto park which will never be in grand highlander, supercruise is way more worth it I have driven it in cadillac escalade meanwhile grandhighlander basic adaptive cruise control is trash KIA/ Hyundai is way better than toyota. Acadia has more towing power than grand highlander. And cherry on top grand highlanders are not seeling less than $65k hybrid max while acadia will get you $62k I have reserved one will be here in May. So for $3k less I’m getting way more value and luxury. Toyota and honda has gone down hill only thing they keep saying for selling is “you can’t get anything relaible as us” and I’m like never had problems ever with any other companies yet so not gonna buy on that bs so you can jack up prices on that “reliability” bs even more than luxury brands like gmc.

    3. FOR 65K I may as well Move up to a Cadillac XT6

  4. I really don’t understand GM’s approach to these launches. All the information is out there and you are able to order from a dealer, but they can’t put a build and price tool on the website. I’m ready to place an order on an Elevation, but would like to see more interior/exterior imagines of the color choices.

  5. So… a Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid Max Limited AWD with panoramic sunroof, which comes with more horsepower and torque, plus better fuel economy, can be had for less money than a base Denali, and only slightly more than a AT4 with some options and pano roof. In addition to Toyota reliability and resale value. Even with a GM employee discount, I struggle to find where there is any value with the new C1 platform pricing.

… And I won’t even bring the Koreans into this discussion.

The competition is too good in this segment to justify these prices, GM! Oh, and ONLY a black interior on the new Traverse as well, so that if you want any kind of variance you’re forced to look at the GMC or Buick! These strategies are going to blow up in your face!

    1. So we are cherry picking data then huh? Ok, how about comparing their top trim level, the Platinum… That starts at 54k (58.5k in Hybrid trim). Toyota reliability is a thing of the past, with the issues with current trucks and other items (shoot, had to put a water pump in the wifes Rav4 a while back at 85k miles and her previous one went had multiple issues after we sold it to a neighbor (alternator, steering shaft and then something else I can’t recall as it was a while ago). Tacoma’s have had issues and so on. This isn’t 1980, that is perceived reliability which has been proven to be no better than other mainstream manufacturers. Unfortunately that perception is driving resale, but I don’t care much about that, it isn’t a huge amount and we keep our vehicles.

Either way, pricing is inline with the competition. Yes, it gets better mpg in the hybrid but actually not much in the Max or regular versions. The 2.5 in the GM twins puts out a bunch more power and torque than the non hybrid and regular hybrid and only to be outdone by the Hybrid max. So not seeing the big disparity. I bet the interior in the Acadia is nicer and probably the ride and drive. These vehicles were better than most in many dynamics in the current gen and the Highlander has always been kind of lack luster. The rental we had in San Diego was forgettable and the non hybrid was just adequate in power.

    2. The worst part is, they only have 2 family sized CUV, the Traverse and Acadia. Now the new ones are bigger, roomier, have the smallest engine compared to much of the competitors. On top of all that, they are more expensive and, less efficient than there competitors with bigger engines. Go figure!

  6. So a base model AWD with extra cost paint and a couple of options will be over 50K. That is all sorts of crazy especially considering a current 2023 SLE AWD Acadia with extra cost paint, the convenience package and better floor mats is around 43 or 7 K less! GM must be losing a lot of coin on those new EV’s

    1. It isn’t apples to apples. To start, base price to base price of the models you mention is 5.5k difference. Now the new one is much larger, has much more tech and a more powerful engine, all that adds cost. Lets say the difference is half that in added costs excluding the new upgrades. We can’t tell what is standard, some of those options you listed might come on Elevation standard. Until it comes out with a build and price and all standard features, you can’t adequately compare, but the new one comes with a good amount more upgrades and size which adds costs.

Just some funny math, the current Acadia’s length is 94% of that of the Traverse, if you take that 6% in terms of the base price, that is $2,200 in added length in more material that needs to be accounted for that you can tack on the base price. Yes this is funny math but you get the idea. More material means more costs.

    2. When can you order a Acadia sick of waiting. It wasnt available to look at the Houston auto show. If it doesnt come out to order soon I will be moving on with other customers

      Reply
      1. They mentioned that production is “scheduled” to start March 4th. However, I’ll believe it when I see it. They will probably open ordering in the next few weeks.

  7. They should put the 2.7 in the Acadia to differentiate from the Traverse.

  8. This is unrelated to the Acadia, but I seen a piece back a couple weeks ago about input on the new full-size vans. Well, I for one, hope they manage to figure out how to design and build one that’s considerably better looking, more powerful, more capable and much better mpg than the Ford, Ram , or Mercedes units. Unfortunately with GM , it doesn’t do much good to put much faith in them. The current model has been around for decades and wasn’t anything special when it came out.

  9. What about the Elevation Premium? GM announced that a trim. Is that just a package to add onto the Elevation? What’s the pricing. Also curious about all the interior color options for each trim.

    1. For Elevation interior its Coretec “After Dark” and “Gideon Gray”

  10. GMC is GM’s most polished brand, the Cowboy’s Cadillac, and we are seeing that with price. Price points this high may scare off loyal customers like has happened with Jeep but I think GM see writing on wall that Cadillac is a dead man walking, Mark Ruess said EV was the brand’s last chance, so I guess these prices make sence if 5he goal is to compete with luxe brands

  11. We are glad we bought out Denali Ultima when we did. The higher price and bigger size is not for us.

We will have to reassess what will buy next as the Acadia is now off the list.

My son has a BLazer and I love the size and V6 in it but i miss the options like hud and the electronic suspension.

  12. Still disappointed the Acadia grew so much. I’ll take the additional width as I always thought our 18′ was a little narrow but we like the length current Acadia. Its the right size for us and many. GM should of offered 2 Acadia wheel bases.

  13. it’s a shame GM is ripping the public off with these weak turbo four cylinders. The 2024 GMC ACADIA DENALI
is truly a beautiful SUV, I was going to buy one until I found out it was a four cylinder. Take one of these four cylinders through the western Tennessee mountains or even out west toward California. The transmissions will go crazy shifting to give those weak engines power, I don’t care how new they are Never mind towing something! or even luggage. No, I will buy the 2025 Ford Explorer with the 3.0 twin turbo V6 rear wheel drive. physics! four vs six, GM is just being cheap.
