Chevrolet Chile Sales Increased 10 Percent In April 2024

Chevrolet Chile sales increased 10 percent to 1,609 units in April 2024. The figures place Chevrolet as the fourth country’s best-selling automobile brand of the month, behind Suzuki, Toyota, and Hyundai.

Chilean auto sales figures are limited since reporting only shows the best-selling models in each segment. As such, no sales data is available for vehicles that sell in lower volumes. Nevertheless, individual Chevy model sales performance (for models for which sales data is available) was as follows:

In addition to the models specified, Chevrolet also markets the following vehicles in Chile:

Chevrolet Chile sales decreased 12 percent to 6,469 units during the first four months of the 2024 calendar year.

After experiencing an extensive bad streak of 18 consecutive months of contraction, Chevrolet Chile sales stopped contracting and rose healthily in April. Last month’s good result put an end to Chevrolet’s negative performance in the Chilean market and represents the first increase recorded by the brand since the slight monthly increase in September 2022. Despite this positive news, in April alone, the brand fell for the first time from second to fourth place on the podium of the best sellers in the Chilean automotive market.

Chevrolet Chile’s main models, including the best-selling Chevy Groove and the all-new Chevy Sail, increased their sales during the month. In fact, they were mainly responsible for the first monthly increase in the last year and a half by adding a total of 182 units to the overall result. The Chevy Sail was the nameplate with the highest percentage increase for the brand, thanks to the popularity of the redesigned model.

In addition, the Chevy Montana recorded an improvement in its monthly result and added better additional volume that reflects an improvement in the inventory level of compact pickup trucks in the local market. The Izusu-sourced commercial truck line and the Chevy Silverado also posted healthy increases during the month.
