2026 Chevrolet Silverado

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado will represent the eighth model year of the fourth-generation pickup range, for which we expect it to see minor changes consistent with a model year carry-over. In fact, the 2026 Silverado will likely be the final model year before the next-gen Silverado comes to market for the 2027 model year.

Production

The 2026 Silverado is expected to be produced across five plants, depending on model and cab configuration.

Platform

The 2026 Silverado will ride on one of three vehicle architectures, depending on model:

  • The 2026 Silverado Light Duty rides on the GM T1 platform. Otherwise known as GMT-T1 or T1XX, the architecture is designed for pickup trucks and body-on-frame SUVs.
  • The 2026 Silverado Heavy-Duty rides on a variant of the GM T1 platform modified for heavy duty pickup trucks.
  • The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado Medium-Duty pickup trucks utilize a platform that was jointly developed by Navistar and General Motors. The Silverado 4500, 5500, and 6500 do not ride on the T1 platform or K2 platform, which are utilized by third and fourth-generation Silverado 1500, 2500, and 3500 models, respectively.

Seating

The 2026 Silverado will be offered in three seating configurations, seating either three, five or six passengers:

  • Three-passenger configuration: this setup features a front 40/20/40 split bench seat (providing seating for three)
    • Exclusive to Regular Cab models
  • Five-passenger configuration (2-3): this setup features bucket seats in the front row (providing seating for two), along with a 60/40 bench seat in the second row (seating three), resulting in a 2-3 seating configuration
  • Six-passenger configuration: this setup features a 40/20/40 split bench seat in the front row (providing seating for three), along with a 60/40 bench seat in the second row (seating three), resulting in a 3-3 seating configuration
