2020 Chevrolet Equinox Changes, Updates, New Features

The 2020 Chevy Equinox gets the following updates and changes:

Model Line

  • Deletion of 3LT and 3LZ trim levels
    • Since the 1.6L Turbo Diesel LH7 engine has been discontinued, LT 3LT and Premier 3LZ will not be offered for the 2020 model year

Exterior

  • Introduction of three new exterior colors:
  • Deletion of seven exterior colors:
    • Storm Blue Metallic
    • Sandy Ridge Metallic
    • Ivy Metallic
    • Kinetic Blue Metallic
    • Orange Burst Metallic
    • Pepperdust Metallic
    • Satin Steel Metallic
  • Deletion of outside heated power-adjustable, manual-folding body-color mirrors with turn signal indicators
    • For the 2019 model year, these mirrors were standard on the 2FL trim level and available on 1LT, 2LT and 3LT as part of the Driver Confidence Package and/or the Redline Edition
    • For 2020 model year, the mirrors are replaced with outside heated power-adjustable, manual-folding (without the turn signal indicators)
  • Front fog lamps are now included with Driver Convenience Package (ZQ2) on 2FL, 1LT and 2LT as well as Infotainment Package (WPZ) on 3LT
    • For the 2019 model year, front fog lamps were not available on LT trim level
  • Rear bumper protector (LPO-level item) is now available as free flow on LS, LT and Premier 1LZ equipment groups
    • Previously the rear bumper protector was only available as part of the Chrome Package and Style and Go Package
  • Body-color door handles and body-color door handles with chrome strip are now 2-door Passive Entry
    • Only the front two doors have buttons for keyless entry system
  • 19-inch wheels with bright machined finish and Sparkle Silver pockets now have RPO Code PJT
    • For the 2019 model year, these wheels had the RPO Code RT7
  • New High-Gloss Black window trim (DLO trim) for Midnight Edition and Sport Edition

Interior

  • Addition of Jet Black perforated leather-appointed seating (H0Y)
    • For Midnight Edition and Special Edition models
  • Deletion of Jet Black / Cinnamon color combination
  • Deletion of leather-wrapped shift lever
    • For the 2019 model year, the leather-wrapped shift lever was standard on Premier and available with the Driver Convenience Package
    • For the 2020 model year, the chrome-trimmed shift lever is now standard and is the only shift lever available
  • 3-spoke deluxe steering wheel is now standard on 2FL
    • For the 2019 model year, the 2FL trim level came with the leather-wrapped steering wheel
    • For the 2020 model year, the 3-spoke deluxe steering wheel is now standard on all models except for the Premier
      • Premier models come standard with a 3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel
    • The 3-spoke leather steering wheel is only available for 2020 Equinox LT models as part of the Driver Convenience Package

      • Jet Black perforated leather-appointed seating
      • 19-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels
      • Memory settings
      • Inside rearview auto-dimming mirror
      • Outside heated power-adjustable and auto-dimming mirrors
        • Only the driver-side mirror is auto dimming*
      • Dark finish fog lamp bezel surround
      • Unique mold-in-color Black grille and mesh with Black surround
      • New High-Gloss Black window trim (DLO trim)
      • Front and rear Black bowties
      • Available on LT models (1LT and 2LT):
        • On 1LT:
          • Requires Mosaic Black Metallic and Confidence and Convenience Package
          • Included with Sport Edition
          • Not available separately when Sport Edition is ordered
          • Not available with the following: Blackout Package, Chrome Package, front and rear Black bowtie emblems
        • On 2LT:
          • Requires Mosaic Black Metallic and Confidence and Convenience Package
          • Included with Sport Edition.
          • Not available separately when Sport Edition is ordered
          • Not available with the following: Blackout Package, Chrome Package, Redline Edition or front and rear Black bowtie emblems
    • Sport Edition
      • Includes Midnight Edition content
      • Available on LT models (1LT and 2LT):
        • On 1LT:
          • Not available with Chocolate Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic or Cayenne Orange Metallic exterior colors.
          • Requires Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, Pacific Blue Metallic, Nightfall Gray Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, Midnight Blue Metallic, or Cajun Red Tintcoat exterior color.
          • Requires Confidence and Convenience Package.
          • Not available with the following: Blackout Package, Chrome Package, or front and rear Black bowtie emblems.
        • On 2LT:
          • Not available with Chocolate Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic or Cayenne Orange Metallic exterior colors.
          • Requires Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, Pacific Blue Metallic, Nightfall Gray Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, Midnight Blue Metallic, or Cajun Red Tintcoat exterior color.
          • Requires Confidence and Convenience Package.
          • Not available with the following: Blackout Package, Chrome Package, Redline Edition, or front and rear Black bowtie emblems.
  • Renaming of Driver Confidence Packages:
    • Driver Confidence Package is now Driver Confidence II Package
    • Driver Confidence II Package is now Driver Confidence III Package
  • Driver Confidence III Package now includes:
  • Deletion of the following packages:
    • Sun & Navigation Package
    • Sun, Sound & Navigation Package
    • LT Appearance Package
    • Driver Confidence Plus Package (content within the package becomes standard)
    • Lights and Bright Package
    • Style & Go Package (LPO-level item)
