2020 GMC Terrain Changes, Updates, New Features

The 2020 GMC Terrain gets the following updates and changes:

Model Line

• Deletion of SLE Diesel (3SB) and SLT Diesel (4SB) trim levels
  • Since the 1.6L Turbo Diesel LH7 engine has been discontinued, 3SB and 4SB trims will not be offered for the 2020 model year

Exterior

• Addition of new White Frost Tricoat exterior color
• Deletion of two exterior colors:
  • Blue Steel Metallic
  • Sedona Metallic
• Bright rear bumper protector (LPO-level item) is now available as Free Flow on SLE and SLT models
  • Remains part of Bright Accent Package (LPO-level item)
  • Previously, the bright rear bumper protector option was included and only available with the Bright Accent Package on SLE and SLT models

Interior

• Deletion of Interior Enhancement Package (LPO-level item), which for the 2019 model year included:
  • Premium carpeted floor mats (LPO-level item)
  • Embroidered front row headrests (LPO-level item)
• Addition of Front and Rear Park Assist
  • Standard and only offered on Terrain Denali models
  • SLE and SLT models continue being available with Rear Park Assist

Safety

• Contents of Driver Alert Package II are now standard on all trim levels, including:
  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Forward Collision Alert
  • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
  • Following Distance Indicator
  • Front Pedestrian Braking
  • IntelliBeam headlamps
  • These items are bundled as part of the GMC Pro Safety package
  • Adaptive Cruise Control – Camera is the only feature that was part of the Driver Alert Package II for the 2019 model year that isn’t standard for the 2020 model year
• Adaptive Cruise Control – Camera is now included in:
  • Driver Alert Package I on SLE and SLT models
  • Advanced Safety Package on Denali models
    • For the 2019 model year, the Adaptive Cruise Control – Camera option was included and only available with the Driver Alert Package II, available only on SLT and Denali models
• Driver Alert Package I now includes:
  • Adaptive Cruise Control – Camera
  • Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Rear Park Assist
  • Safety Alert Seat
  • On SLT models, includes outside heated power-adjustable manual-folding body-color mirrors with LED turn signal indicators, and also requires Driver Convenience Package, which includes:
    • Remote Start
    • Dual-zone automatic climate control
    • Driver and front passenger heated seats
    • 8-way power driver seat adjuster
    • Driver power lumbar control
    • Roof-mounted luggage rack side rails
  • On SLE models, requires Preferred Package, which includes:
    • Hands-free rear power programmable liftgate
    • Memory Package
    • Front passenger 6-way power seat
    • Front passenger power seat with power lumbar
    • Heated steering wheel
    • Universal Home Remote
• Advanced Safety Package and Comfort Package are now included and only available with Denali Premium Package
  • For the 2019 model year, the Advanced Safety Package required the Driver Alert Package II
  • For the 2019 model year, the Comfort Package was free flow on Denali models

Mechanical

• Deletion of LH7 1.6L Turbo Diesel engine option along with 2.89 final drive ratio, plus associated AWD and FWD drivetrains
• 2.0-Liter LTG Turbo I4 engine is no longer available on SLE 3SA
  • For the 2020 model year, the 2.0-Liter LTG engine is only available on SLT models and standard on Denali
• Denali Premium Suspension now includes an additional valve internal to the struts and shocks that delivers a more refined ride. This is in addition to the existing upgraded urethane spring isolators that reduce road noise over coarse roads.

• Black Edition has been renamed to “Elevation Edition” (WJP)
  • Available on SLE and SLT, package includes:
    • 19-inch gloss black aluminum wheels
    • Darkened front grille
    • Black roof side rails
    • Black GMC center caps with black GMC lettering
    • Black exterior accents
    • Black mirror caps
    • Black exterior badging
  • On SLE models:
    • Requires Jet Black interior color
    • Available with exterior colors:
      • Graphite Gray Metallic
      • Satin Steel Metallic
      • Quicksilver Metallic
      • Summit White
      • Ebony Twilight Metallic
    • Not available with Bright Accent Package (LPO-level item)
  • On SLT models:
    • Requires Jet Black interior color
    • Available with exterior colors:
      • Graphite Gray Metallic
      • Satin Steel Metallic
      • Quicksilver Metallic
      • Summit White
      • Ebony Twilight Metallic
    • Not available with:
      • Chrome Package
      • Bright Accent Package (LPO-level item)
      • Dark Accent Package (LPO-level item)
• Addition of Denali Premium Package
  • Available only on Denali models, package includes:
    • Advanced Safety Package content:
      • Automatic Parking Assist
      • HD Surround Vision
  • Comfort Package content:
    • Ventilated driver seat
    • Ventilated front passenger seat
    • Heated rear seats
