The GM Authority Take
First sales of the Chevy Equinox EV begin in the U.S. during the second quarter of 2024, starting out with a solid performance of 1K-plus deliveries.
The Equinox EV and its larger sibling, the Chevy Blazer EV, are entering the largest EV segment on the market with interesting expected demographics. Take a look at the difference in size between these two EVs.
About Chevrolet Equinox EV
The first-ever 2024 Chevy Equinox EV debuted this past September. The new all-electric crossover rides on the GM BEV3 platform, featuring as standard a single Ultium Drive electric motor powering the front wheels. This is rated at 213 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. An optional AWD system is also available, rated at 288 horsepower and 333 pound-feet of torque.
Launch trim levels include 2LT and 3LT, along with the sporty 2RS and 3RS, plus a 2RS Launch Edition, which is currently sold out. There will be no 2024 Equinox EV 1LT trim level.
The Equinox comes standard with manual-adjusted front seats, an 11-inch diagonal infotainment screen, an 11-inch driver information display, and 19-inch wheels. The upgraded infotainment screen measures in at an impressive 17.7 inches and is available on the 2LT and standard on the 3LT and two RS trims. Cosmetic options include available 20- and 21-inch wheels, a front LED light bar for 2LT and up models, a two-tone white roof for LT models, and a two-tone black roof for RS models.
The Chevy Safety Assist suite of active safety features comes standard across the board.
Notably, GM’s semi-autonomous Super Cruise driver assist system is available on most trim levels of the all-new 2024 Equinox EV, yet the all-new model does not offer the option of a wireless phone charger on any trim.
GM confirmed the driving range for the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV AWD, which will offer an EPA-estimated 285 miles of range per charge, while the Equinox EV FWD will offer 319 miles of range. The all-electric compact crossover recently received revised horsepower and torque ratings following published efficiency ratings and towing capacities.

Comments
The sales numbers are small now, since production is beginning. I expect future sales to grow and pass all the imports soon.
It’s only been available for like a month or less
On your expectation:
I agree. I seen one up close, and it does have curb appeal!
Saw my first one in the wild today. Certainly love it. And I especially love that even though its an EV, its still a normal looking car through and through and not an iPad with gimmicks surrounded by a body shaped like a car (unless its one made to look like a stainless steel door wedge). An easier vehicle to transition to for traditionalist old school Cadillac/Lincoln loving millenials like me.
One thing I do note its bigger in person than it looks in photos so a big plus right there. I think this will be the one to look at when I replace the 8-year old Rav.
On the bigger:
I thought just the opposite, and I liked that for it.
An outstanding EV. And, the competition does not of Super Cruise, which alone is reason to get a GM vehicle.
Well my dad always told me there’s a thousand suckers born every second there you have it
Dad must be Jack Hoff Sr.
We just took delivery of ours and we love it! Getting used to where all the menus are, but they did a pretty good job of getting the controls needed out front. Cruise control is different from the past, haven’t come to any conclusion on how I feel about that. Love having the location specific garage door opener! Not sure if I miss apple play yet. apple play was sometimes inconsistent on the Bolt.
Anyone got real confirmed ground clearance spec from GM?
I’ve seen everything from 6.6in to 8.2in across the internet.
It looked higher than I was expecting when I saw it in person.
