2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ Range Estimate Increases From 450 to 460 Miles

Officially revealed back in August 2023, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ is set to take the iconic Escalade nameplate into the all-electric future. However, the electric luxury SUV won’t replace the ICE-powered model just yet, as factors like range anxiety and charging infrastructure still hamper EV adoption. That being said, General Motors recently updated the Escalade IQ’s range estimates.

Upon its unveiling, the Escalade IQ boasted a GM-estimated range of 450 miles on a full charge. Now, The General has upped its range estimate to 460 miles on a full charge, though the Cadillac consumer site still references 450 miles of range. Interestingly, the Detroit-based automaker also raised its range estimates for the Chevy Silverado EV RST FE from 400 to 440 miles.

It’s worth noting that the Chevy Silverado EV also achieved the same 460 miles of range in real-world testing.

In other Escalade IQ-related developments, GM Authority reported that all-electric luxury SUV could eventually be offered with lower power levels or smaller battery capacities. While there’s not much detail surrounding this possibility, it’s plausible that the Silverado EV’s 20-module battery pack could find its way into the Escalade IQ. For reference, the Caddy will be exclusively offered with a 24-module, 200 kWh battery pack at launch.

As a reminder, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ develops up to 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque by way of its dual GM Ultium Drive electric motors and the aforementioned GM Ultium battery pack. These output figures are good for a 0-60 mph sprint in less than five seconds.

Some additional noteworthy goodies include 24-inch wheels, an Adaptive Air Ride suspension setup, Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, and four-wheel steering.

Under the skin lies the GM BT1 platform, while production is currently scheduled to get under way at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan on October 7th, 2024. Notably, this is the same facility that produces the other BT1 variants, including the Silverado EV, Sierra EV and Hummer EV.

  1. This EV will replace the ICEV model for the wealthy because it is silent, more stable, and has more torque. Expect to see the Escalade IQ at all future “red carpet” arrivals at awards ceremonies.

    1. The wealthy will just have both. One for the house in WY and one for the NY apartment. One commenter on a previous post (and was downvoted of course) got it right. There are cases where the EV is attractive and cases for the ICE. If you can afford to have both, and I mean without a loan, then both is the way to go. Given less than about 1% of the populace is in this situation, consider carefully which type you buy. I do think the EV slade is attractive, and will pick up buyers, the same class of buyer that is buying V-slades, which are about the same price. My dealer sells about 1 V-slade/week.

  2. Considering that GM consistently underestimates its EV ranges, I wonder if we should expect numbers in the 470-480 mile range in real-world testing. Pretty impressive for a vehicle this size.

  3. These are miles range that might edge me toward an electric auto purchase. I keep saying I am a year away.

  4. Nice vehicle probably but far more expensive than the entry level Escalade. Id buy one if they sold a basic one, but if they also drop entry level 2wd escalades then I predict disappointing sales for both.

Will have to see if they make a no nonsense entry level Vistiq.

  5. 450 miles is more than a tank full of gas would carry an ICE Escalade.

Could GM use Solar Panels, replaces mood roof

    1. John you must not understand how solar panels work. Slowing down this vehicle by 2 mph will gain as much as any roof mount solar panels.
