About GMC Savana

The 2024 GMC Savana arrives with two new transmissions, which are the only changes for the Passenger Van, Cargo Van, and Cutaway configurations. While, initially, the 2024 GMC Savana cargo van dropped the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, it is now available again, joining the atmospheric 4.3L V6 LV1 gasoline engine as the only two powerplants offered on the 2024 Savana. Check out the 2024 GMC Savana towing capacities.

Additionally, 2024 GMC Savana infotainment system upgrades are no longer available, leaving the 2024 Savana with only a single infotainment option: the base audio system, which consists of an AM/FM stereo with an MP3 player. That system includes an auxiliary jack and two front-door speakers.

Pricing for the 2024 GMC Savana shows significant increases, ranging from $1,600 to $2,900 (including cargo, passenger, and cutaway models). The destination freight charge also increases by $100 to $1,875.

The online configurator is live for the 2024 Savana and still live for the 2023 Savana.

Production of the 2025 GMC Savana is currently scheduled for October 7th.

While the Chevy Express and GMC Savana were thought to be discontinued after the 2025 model year, GM had plans to redesign the Chevy Express for the 2027 model year, keeping the ICE powertrain. However, a report by Autoweek indicates that The General may have canceled plans for any next-generation vans.

To date, GM has sold more than 3 million Chevy Express and GMC Savana units.

  1. Just took delivery of a short wheel base 1 ton passenger van that was drop shipped to Advanced
4X4 in Utah. What a great vehicle. They put the front end of a GM HD truck 4×4 under it. It seems like such a natural thing to offer it from the factory. Hooked up to the HD 6.6 L8T engine make this vehicle perfect for an RV out back OVERLANDING vehicle. Come on GM, we want them, just start building them. They are much better than what Ford, Ram or Mercedes has to offer even though it is almost 30 years old.

  2. Wonder how much they make on each one of these. It’s considered a certainty that the Arlington vehicles and the Escalade in particular are the products that pay all the bills at GM but I suspect the 30-year old Savanna and Express contribute a tidy sum too – maybe even more. There’s absolutely nothing new or fancy about them and 90 percent are probably painted white.

  3. Don’t need a discount program when you don’t have any to sell….

  4. I’m sure GM can improve on this brick with a new dash, front end design ahead of the ‘A-pillar. Add a sunroof or two and some upgraded interior pieces. It would take away sales from full size pickups & SUVs, but would a new van only take sales away from GM? Why change if you’ve found a 30 year sweet spot.
