2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 Gets New Lakeshore Blue Metallic Paint: First Look

After two other colors were removed from the exterior paint color palette offered for the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500, two others were added, including Lakeshore Blue Metallic and Slate Gray Metallic. Here, we’re zooming in on the particulars of the new Lakeshore Blue color.

Designated with RPO code GXP and touch-up paint code WA-136H, Lakeshore Blue Metallic joins the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500’s choice of 11 available paint colors, listed below:

  • Black
  • Dark Ash Metallic
  • Glacier Blue Metallic
  • Harvest Bronze Metallic
  • Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat
  • Red Hot
  • Sterling Gray Metallic
  • Summit White
  • Lakeshore Blue Metallic (new for 2024)
  • Slate Grey Metallic (new for 2024)

Offered at no additional charge, Lakeshore Blue Metallic can be ordered on the WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss and ZR2 trim levels, while it is absent from the LTZ or High Country trims. The color can be combined with all interior colorways of the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500, except for those exclusive to the LTZ and High Country trim levels, the latter including Jet Black/Nightshift Blue and Jet Black/Umber.

For reference, this is the list of interior colorways for the 2024 Silverado 1500 that the Lakeshore Blue Metallic color can be ordered with:

Beyond new paint colors, the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 received several other changes for the model year. GM added availability of the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine to the Silverado ZR2 trim. Additionally, TurboMax branding has been added to the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine. The Midnight Edition Package, previously available on for the Custom Trail Boss and LT Trail Boss trims, can now also be ordered on the High Country trim.

The 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 is motivated by an assortment of engines, including the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine providing 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine developing 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine producing 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.

The 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 is supported by the GM T1 platform. Production of the pickup takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, the GM Oshawa plant in Canada, and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.

  3. …uh…timing a bit off with this one I think…

    Lakeshore was out just after the 2024s launched back in late 2023. It has now been built out for the 2024 MY and isn’t returning for the rest of the year or for 2025.

  4. How about a real update! The new small block V8’s that are supposedly in development?!?! Going on TEN years with same HP/TQ outputs, and only real change is AFM to DFM…….SMFH

    1. That’s what I’m waiting for, give me the option to have the shifter on the tree and update the V8s, also, turn that turbo 4 cyl. Into a straight 6.

  5. I thought the color Glacier Blue Metallic was stopped as well. Why does this article read like you can still order that color?
