In addition to various updates and a few new items of technology, the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 includes some mechanical changes. The 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbo-diesel Duramax engine has been added to the powerplant selection to supply motivation to the ZR2 trim.
Additionally, the Dual-Mode Exhaust (RPO code NPP) feature is now equipped on units powered by the 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine. The feature enables modulation of the truck’s exhaust note from the cockpit, with the driver opening the exhaust system’s integrated flaps for a more aggressive sound, or closing them for quieter operation.
The next-generation Chevy Silverado is expected to arrive with the 2026 model year. In the meantime, production of the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, the GM Silao plant in Mexico, and the GM Oshawa plant in Canada. The Silverado is supported by the GM T1 platform, which also provides the bones for the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500.

Wow Chevrolet Silverado Interior Color selection as CHEAP as they can Get, with 2 whole color choses Black or Gray, yet GM makes Billions and Mary Barra makes 10’s of millions per year. I am impressed!
black or gray. Same as the outside paint mostly. Go to any dealer and look on the lots. How many red or blue trucks do you see?
That’s why I ordered a “Blue”coloured truck. I got to say, it’s rare, maybe it’ll become a collector’s item some day!
Rodney Dangerfield from the movie where he was inheriting a ton of money… “I’ll take two of these in a dark black, and two in a light black.” Those are Chevy’s offerings these days.
Still gray or black, right?
Very appropriate colors for the mood and condition of our country these days.
I chose the new Lakeshore Metallic Blue for my Silverado, and although the colour is nice, I would have preferred a darker shade, closer to a Navy colour as depicted on the GM website. Clearly the real life colour is considerably lighter than the website colour shown. Sales & Marketing did a poor job in terms of the colour representation. Why don’t the dealers have colour samples to show customers like the old days? And most dealers have either Black or White trucks. You’d be hard pressed to find a Red or Blue coloured truck.
Oh, and you can have black or black or black interior trim, door panels carpeting and head liner. I’m so fed up with black interior. How well does that go over in the desert communities – like Phoenix or Las Vegas?
As so many have stated, your options are “Black or Black” or black. I just don’t get it why in the desert south-west even the dealers seem oblivious of how much hotter anything with black interior is when 110 outside. I one put a thermometer 🌡️ in a vehicle black interior and another in a light 💡 interior. The temp was 160 in the black and “only” 130 in the light interior after an hour. The black interior would burn a leg if bare skin touched.
Wake up dealers, demand much less of the black and come up with some lighter shades ivory, beige, gray’s, etc!
Oh, and by the way one day I “dare” anyone to lay a hand on the hood of a black vehicle sitting in ☀️ sun. Can’t do it, right? Then go lay your hand all day on that white or light color vehicle. All that heat does transfer to interior.
White vehicle with white, crème, beige, interiors are Way cooler especially in the desert.
