The Sky Panel Storage Set for eTrunk (RPO code SC8) for the 2024 GMC Hummer EV is currently unavailable to order on both the Hummer EV SUV and Hummer EV Pickup, GM Authority has learned.
The Sky Panel Storage Set is normally an LPO or dealer-installed option, fitted at the dealership rather than coming from the factory when the vehicle is shipped.
The Sky Panel Storage Set In Use
It is currently unclear when the Sky Panel Storage Set will be available to order again on the GMC Hummer EV. The storage set is ordinarily a $695 option available on all trim levels of both the SUV and pickup body styles of Big Red’s beefy electric vehicle nameplate.
The Sky Panel Storage Set is an optional accessory that adds trays to the front trunk or “eTrunk” of the vehicle. These trays securely and safely hold the removable Modular Sky Panels optionally equipped on the model, which can be removed for an enjoyable open-air riding experience. The trays of the Storage Set will keep the panels safe even while driving over rough ground or similarly challenging situations.

GM Ultium Battery and Ultium Drive motor technology power both the SUV and pickup versions of the GMC Hummer EV. The high-end 3X trims feature a three-motor setup, while the mid-range 2X trim vehicles are motivated by two motors, one for the front wheels and the other for the rear. The 2X trim of both variants is powered by a 20-module Ultium battery and develops slightly more than 625 peak horsepower.
Production numbers for the 2024 GMC Hummer EV have increased steadily since the November 2021 start of production. The Pickup was the first body style to come off the assembly line, though production was halted in December 2022 and January 2023 to tool up Factory Zero to produce the Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV. Hummer production has since climbed to 2,750 units monthly by midsummer 2023.
Under the body panels, both the GMC Hummer SUV and Pickup variants are built on the GM BT1 all-electric platform. Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant (previously known as the GM Detroit-Hamtramck plant) in Michigan.
