The 2024 Chevy Blazer Is Getting This New Paint Color

Although thoroughly revised with a mid-cycle refresh for the 2023 model year, the 2024 Chevy Blazer is set to introduce a few notable features and improvements for the upcoming model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that one of these updates is a new paint color, Riptide Blue Metallic.

Tagged with color code GJV, the Riptide Blue Metallic paint color is set to replace Blue Glow Metallic (color code GHT), which was introduced on the 2022 Blazer. In fact, the latter paint color has actually already been built out for the 2023 Blazer, and is no longer available to be ordered.

It’s worth noting that The General has yet to release any photos of the Riptide Blue Metallic paint color on the 2024 Blazer.

The 2024 Chevy Blazer will be available with the new Riptide Blue paint color, as shown here on the Blazer EV.

Riptide Blue Metallic will be a no-extra-charge color available on all trim levels, and available with all interior colorways, which are as follows:

  • Jet Black
  • Jet Black/Maple Sugar
  • Jet Black/Medium Gray
  • Jet Black/Nightshift Blue
  • Jet Black with Red Accents

It’s worth noting that the Jet Black/Medium Ash Gray (color code HXB) interior colorway has also been ditched for the 2024 Chevy Blazer.

As a reminder, the mid-cycle refresh of the 2023 Blazer featured updated front and rear fascias, interior upgrades, and a revised trim lineup.

Under the hood, the turbocharged 2.0L LSY I4 gasoline engine is equipped as standard fare on 2LT, 3LT and Premier trim levels, rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The naturally aspirated 3.6L LGX V6 gasoline engine, standard on the RS trim and available as an option on the 3LT and Premier trim levels, is rated at 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. Both powerplants are mated to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard and AWD is optional.

As for structure, the Chevy Blazer rides on the GM C1 platform. Production of the 2024 Blazer is currently scheduled to kick off on July 10th, 2023 at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico, while production of the current 2023 Blazer will end on July 8th, 2023.

    1. When did you order it?

I ordered mine in August, constraint on the 6 cyl kept it from being built, by the time that was lifted the quit making the blue so I got a red RS instead.

  4. We have had our Premier since 12/19 and it’s been a great drive. I have a suspicion that in the future the V6 will be gone in favor of the 2.5 Turbo being used in the new Traverse. The naturally aspirated V6 days seem to be numbered, as the number of vehicles using it have dwindled.

    1. I agree, I loved my V6 it was great, but I’m not going to pay for premium gas and if I buy want a colt that I like.

  6. So this means that every trim level save the highest price Premier will have all black interiors as the only choice. GM cost cutting and vehicle dumbing down at it’s finest. I’ll bet there will be no such insane restrictions on the EV’s.
