GM has issued a service bulletin for a retrofit of the heated steering wheel (RPO code KI3) feature that was omitted from certain units of the 2022 Cadillac XT5 produced from February 14th, 2022 onwards.
Some units of the 2022 Cadillac XT5 luxury crossover were built without the heated steering wheel they were supposed to be equipped with. The constraint resulted from the microchip shortage that followed the COVID-19 pandemic and its supply chain disruptions.
Availability of heated steering wheels was constrained from February 14th, 2022 onward. The heated steering wheel was normally standard on the Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels of the 2022 Cadillac XT5, and not offered at all on the Luxury trim.
Several other Cadillac vehicles received limited heated steering wheel availability at the same time, including the Cadillac XT4 and XT6 crossovers, as well as the CT4 and CT5 sedans.
GM has instructed dealerships to carry out the retrofit on affected 2022 Cadillac XT5 units, replacing the non-functional heated steering wheel with a functional heated steering wheel available from GM. The retrofit is carried out at no cost to the XT5 owner and requires approximately 30 minutes for the service personnel to complete.
The retrofit program is in effect until March 31st, 2026.
Buyers of affected 2022 Cadillac XT5 units were notified of the non-functional heated steering wheel feature and the future availability of a retrofit at the time of purchase. Affected vehicles were marked with the RPO code 00G on their window sticker.
Owners of affected Cadillac XT5s can get more information about the retrofit or voice additional questions or concerns by calling Cadillac‘s customer service number, referencing the GM customer satisfaction program number below.

As a reminder, the 2022 Cadillac XT5 was produced with two powerplant options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine developing 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Output is routed through the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.
Under the body panels, the GM C1 platform provides structure for the 2022 Cadillac XT5. XT5 production for the North American market takes place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

How about having the retrofit XT5 stay In this country along with China ?
Still waiting for this retrofit on my 22 XT4, would be nice to have a heated steering wheel for next winter. The retrofit for the heated/ventilated seats in my vehicle was installed relatively quickly, this retrofit is taking a long time.
Still waiting for my chip for my 2022 xt4. Not happy with GM. Was told 3 rd quarter off 2022 it is now 3rd quarter of 2023.
So you’re doing it for no charge? What I paid for already..very generous of you. After being patient for 2 YEARS I’m told it’s another 10 days. I will never purchase another GM car. Your dealership is rude, I was sold an inferior product without the package I PAID for. Oh, and I have to take time from my day to bring it to the crummy dealer and have it installed.
Just so you know both the DODGE dealer, where I got my truck, and the INFINITY dealer where we purchases my spouses other car are literally light years ahead of GM in customer service and product.
