Production of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 has officially begun as of last month. Every Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 produced will be draped in the exclusive Moonshot Green Matte color. Today, we’re bringing you our first look at the 2024 Hummer EV SUV painted in a different hue, Meteorite Metallic, in the following GM Authority live photo gallery.
As aforementioned, this particular EV3X unit is painted in Meteorite Metallic (color code GNO), one of eight available paint colors for the 2024 Hummer EV SUV. As such, this trim level is fitted with the following as standard equipment, among other things (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):
- 22-inch Premium Finish Painted Aluminum with selective machining (PHZ)
- LT305/55R22 Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT tires (QMH)
- Aluminum fixed assist steps (E01)
- Infinity Roof with removable opaque Sky Panels (CF7)
Notably, Meteorite Metallic will also be offered for the GMC Hummer EV Pickup.
In regards to exterior features, this 2024 Hummer EV SUV features black recovery (tow) hooks, silver skid plates, and fog lights fitted at the corners of the Black front bumper, along with a small GMC badge placed on the driver’s side of the front grille. The headlights stretch from coast-to-coast, with the HUMMER nameplate spelled out in them.
Around the side, we see body-colored side mirror caps along with body-colored door handles, silver wheels and Black side steps.
Out back, a full-size spare is proudly displayed, along with another small GMC hard badge. On the Black rear bumper, there’s a Black recovery hook that’s offset to the passenger-side, while a license plate sits offset to the driver’s side.
As a reminder, GMC Hummer EV SUV production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant (previously the GM Detroit-Hamtramck plant) in Michigan. Output is sourced from GM Ultium batteries and three GM Ultium Drive motors in the Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 and EV3X trims, producing 830 horsepower and 11,500 pound-feet of wheel torque. The EV2 and EV2X trim levels get a two-motor setup with 625 horsepower and 7,400 pound-feet of wheel torque.
Under the skin, the Hummer EV SUV, along with the GMC Hummer EV Pickup, rides on GM’s dedicated “Ulti-body” all-electric BT1 platform. The same architecture, albeit in a different version, also underpins the upcoming Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV pickup trucks.

would probably look a lot cooler if it was gloss and not metallic, kind of similar to audi’s nardo gray
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen GM have a color similar to the Nardo Gray yet. That’s alright though. It’s on every Kia, Hyundai, VW, and Honda I see anymore.
The Bolt has a similar one. Also, the Honda and Hyundai versions are actually pearl/fine metallic.
I am waiting for the Hummer EV SUV Edition coming to Europe (Sweden), I have a fantastic Hummer H2 now but I also want the EV, but It might take a few years, if ever…. i guess. Meanwhile I have ordered a Hongqi E-HS9. If Hummer EV would have that kind of dashboard instead of a a few missplaced laptops and captainschairs in the second row that would make the Hummer complete! Hongqi price is about the same as Hummer EV.
They also build super sportscars with a top speed of 250 mph, 1400 hp, price is $ 2 millon!
Looks better than the green.
This is the kind of vehicle begging for fresh, bright colors, even two-tones, iridescents, and gradients.
Am I the only one who sees “gloss primer” when I see colors like these?
Nice to see something in the news besides the Edition 1. Anybody else have a reservation? I missed the Edition 1 and placed the Res in April 2021, and on Friday, Feb 24. 2023 got the first update from GMC saying Production Scheduled for 2025. I’m fine with my Yukon until then, just don’t want to see so many of them that I’m sick of it by 2025.
