GM introduced the fully refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD earlier this month, pulling the sheets on a wide variety of updates and changes for the heavy-duty pickup. Among these updates is the inclusion of GM’s Global B electronic architecture.

For those readers who may be unaware, the GM Global B electronic architecture is essentially a digital “nervous system” that leverages both software and hardware to connect a swath of on-board digital features. Now, Global B is in use with the 2024 GMC Sierra HD as well. Looking ahead, all new GM Ultium-based vehicles will also incorporate Global B / VIP, including the Cadillac Celestiq, GMC Sierra EV, GMC Hummer EV SUV, Chevy Silverado EV, Chevy Blazer EV, and Chevy Equinox EV. In fact, Vehicle Intelligence Platform will be in-use for most GM vehicles by 2023, per previous GM Authority coverage.

As for the 2024 GMC Sierra HD, the latest refresh introduces new exterior styling, an overhauled interior, a new trim level lineup, and powertrain updates. Highlight include the debut of the 2024 GMC Sierra HD Denali Ultimate and Sierra HD AT4X off-roader, while the optional 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine is now uprated at 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque, as compared to the 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque produced prior to the refresh.

As a reminder, the refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD will arrive in dealers in Q1 of the 2023 calendar year.
