The Chevy Trax and Chevy Trailblazer have the youngest buyers in the mainstream subcompact crossover segment in the United States. The claim was made by Chevrolet marketing chief Steve Majoros during a recent media conference call attended by GM Authority.
Majoros did not provide any specific figures, but we do know the following: in December 2020, we reported that one in five Trax buyers opt for either the Midnight Edition Package or the Sport Edition package in order to enhance the appearance of the small CUV.
Of course, it is quite possible that older buyers will also choose these packages, but it seems more likely that they appeal largely to younger ones.
Younger customers may also be attracted to the Bow Tie brand due to its low prices. Although Chevrolet attained a record average transaction price (ATP) in the U.S. in 2020, this was influenced by high-priced, high-volume models. One of these, the Chevy Silverado 1500 full-size pickup truck, accounted for nearly a quarter of all General Motors sales across the nation last year. By contrast, the ATP for the Trax was approximately $18,500, well below the segment average of $22,200.

The Trax was the second most popular mainstream subcompact in the United States in 2020, achieving very nearly the same sales as the segment-leading Jeep Compass. The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer was a long way behind, but it was a brand new model, introduced halfway through the year, so it didn’t have enough time to realize its full sales potential
As previously reported, demand for the Trailblazer was exceeding supply by four to one during the end of 2020, forcing GM to cut production of the Trax at its Bupyeong plant in Incheon, South Korea by 30 percent so that the workers can build more Trailblazers.

De Kia is better……😄
I make fun everytime an positive Trailblazer article is posted someone always rain on it’s parade.
So I drove the Kia Seltos the other day. It’s ok, but I’m not impressed.
The car doesn’t feel as solid as the trailblazer does. It also still has a manual hand brake (electronic on the trailblazer), and a lot of the the Kia’s controls (all the buttons/switches on the driver’s door) are very cheap and chintzy. But yeah, it has a few more ponies… though it doesn’t feel that way.
I know which one I would buy with my own money, and it’s not the Kia.
Korean and Mexican built junk. Buy American-UAW.
Downvotes from clowns.
The Kia has a larger infotainment screen in a better position, it also has air vents in the back seat… Most reviewers including myself prefer the interior of the Seltos to the Trailblazer.
The Seltos most certainly feels like it has more ponies… It’s literally like 20% faster 0-60. Sales do reflect that the Seltos is generally considered to be a better overall vehicle. So GM enthusiast can deny the facts, but sales don’t lie.
