2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD

The Chevrolet Silverado HD is expected to receive minor changes and updates for the 2023 model year.

Notably, the heavy-duty truck line was initially set to receive a major refresh for 2023 – including new front and rear end designs, a new interior, along with potential powertrain updates – however, the product cycle is now behind by a model year due to complications brought on by COVID-19 and a shortage of superconductor chips. Additionally, the fourth-gen Silverado HD models are performing extremely well in the market place.

Platform

The 2023 Silverado Heavy Duty will continue to ride on a more capable version of the GM T1 platform, which also underpins the 2021 Sierra 1500 and Sierra HD, 2021 Yukon, as well as other full-size GM trucks and SUVs.

Production

Production of the 2023 Silverado HD is expected to begin during the first quarter of 2022.

As of 2019, Silverado HD models have been assembled at the Flint plant in Michigan, USA. Additionally, the Oshawa plant in Canada is currently only building Chevrolet Silverados. Production began with the Silverado HD in November. In the spring of 2022, Oshawa will begin producing Silverado 1500s, timed with the launch of the refreshed model announced earlier this year. This will make Oshawa the only GM plant to exclusively produce Silverado models, and the only plant making both light and heavy duty trucks.
