The 2022 GMC Terrain introduces a model refresh for the crossover nameplate, ushering in the fifth model year for the second-generation crossover nameplate. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2022 GMC Terrain is no longer available to order in one specific exterior paint color.
According to GM Authority sources, the 2022 GMC Terrain is no longer available to order in Hunter Green Metallic. Tagged with paint code GED, Hunter Green Metallic is one of four new exterior colors added for the 2022 model year, the other three being Cayenne Red Tintcoat, Desert Sand Metallic, and Marine Metallic. In total, the 2022 GMC Terrain was available in eight different colors, with the remaining four hues including White Frost Tricoat, Quicksilver Metallic, Summit White, and Ebony Twilight Metallic.
Hunter Green Metallic was previously offered for an additional $495, and was exclusive to the GMC Terrain Denali trim level. The paint was available in conjunction with the Jet Black interior colorway and Light Platinum with Dark Galvanized interior colorway, but not the Medium Ash Gray with Jet Black colorway.
As GM Authority reported previously, GM has decided to increase production of the GMC Terrain and Chevy Equinox at the GM San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico. The production increase for these two crossovers follows the production stoppage of the Chevy Onix compact car at the facility. New units of the Chevy Onix for the Mexican market are now being imported from China.
Currently, the 2022 GMC Terrain is motivated by the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX gasoline engine, which is rated at 170 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 203 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm. Under the skin, the Terrain rides on the GM D2 platform.
Going forward, GM Authority has learned that the upcoming 2023 GMC Terrain will replace the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX gasoline engine with a new powerplant, namely the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD engine. Output from the new LSD is expected to closely resemble that of the LYX, rated at 175 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 203 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm.

One day shy of one year we finally got our Terain Denali in Hunter metallic. I guess we’ll be in an exclusive group. Wife doesn’t care that it doesn’t have a 2.0, neither do I. We won’t tow anything with it, that’s what our 6.2 Silverado is for.
Another waste of a good color. Will probably be replaced by another boring shade of grey.
That hunter metallic was a nice looking colour now it’s gone just like the 2.0 l engine on the Denali trim I feel like I’m going to buy a nice vehicle but going to get a bag of rocks instead on gm you sure know how to disappoint!!!
Just seems GM can just never get a nice green color on a vehicle and hang onto it. Green just used to be a standard offering.
The wife’s 99 Monte Carlo was the Best looking Green that GM offered that Year, (the other two green color schemes were Not very pretty)!
