The 2022 GMC Terrain receives four new exterior colors: Hunter Metallic, Cayenne Red Tintcoat, Desert Sand Metallic, and Marine Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Marine Metallic hue.
Assigned color code GHT and touch-up paint code WA-6116, Marine Metallic is the only blue hue and one of five metallic color options available for the 2022 Terrain.
In total, there are eight available colors for the 2022 GMC Terrain, including:
- White Frost Tricoat
- Quicksilver Metallic
- Summit White
- Ebony Twilight Metallic
- Hunter Metallic
- Marine Metallic
- Cayenne Red Tintcoat
- Desert Sand Metallic
The Marine Metallic color is not included in the price of the 2022 GMC Acadia, as it costs an additional $495. To note, Summit White is the only exterior paint color included in the base price of the 2022 GMC Terrain.
The new Marine Metallic color is available in conjunction with all trim levels except for Terrain AT4 models. Additionally, the new color is available with the Jet Black and Medium Ash Gray with Jet Black interior color combinations, but not the Light Platinum with Dark Galvanized colorway.
2022 GMC Acadia Trim Levels:
- SLE (3SA)
- SLT (4SA)
- AT4 (4SB)
- Denali (5SA)
2022 GMC Acadia Interior Color Combinations:
- Jet Black
- Medium Ash Gray with Jet Black
- Light Platinum with Dark Galvanized
As of this writing, 2022 Terrain in SLE and SLT trim levels have entered production, including models in Marine Metallic. However, the ongoing microchip shortage is negatively impacting inventory levels as the GM San Luis Potosi plant has been idled until the end of August, so we recommend checking with a dealer for complete availability details. Notably, 2022 Terrain AT4 and Denali models have yet to begin production. As GM Authority was first to report in May, the AT4 is set to start production in late August while the Denali is set to begin production in early September.
Prospective buyers may be interested to know that the 2022 GMC Terrain received a refresh, which was originally scheduled for the 2021 model year, but delayed due to complications caused by the Coronavirus. Other changes include new front and rear end fascias, small revisions to the interior and materials, the deletion of the base SL trim level, new wheel options, new a defeat switch for the engine auto stop-start feature, and more.

I see gas pictured at $2.69, must be pre-Biden
Its like a global pandemic happened or something? Grow up people! Look up average monthly gas prices over the past 16 years. Average prices during Obama’s final year were lower than at any point during Trump’s term. However, that is probably fake news to you. I can’t help you there. Good luck in life and keep filling up a self proclaimed millionaire’s pockets with money – he really appreciates it!
You mean the fake virus?
I now see the photo with the $2.69 gas price in the background has been removed, I guess it doesn’t fit the narrative
Looks great. If I wasn’t so partial to the red, I would consider this.
I would buy a terrain today if they would put a more powerful motor in them. At a minimum, it should have the 2.0 L that is used in the Buick Envision.
The front grill still ugly do like the Acadia ,,
More colour choice but less engine options rather have it the other way less colours and better engine choices. The 2.0 should be standard engine across all trim levels in my opinion!
Wow it went particular well with the chrome, i also like the updated design of the terrain.
Does merry really.need to charge 500 for blue paint? It doesn’t cost anymore then white or black.
Hopefully this blue is available on 2022 Silverado for no extra charge.
That color is nice on the terrain too bad it doesn’t comes with the 2.0L smh
