The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Argentina sales again decreased during the month of April, deepening the brand’s negative performance as the sixth consecutive monthly drop in the South American country. However, Chevrolet’s commercial result last month represents a recovery with respect to the performance of previous months in the Argentine market, lowering the pace of decline to a single digit and doubling the worst sales volume of March.

Chevrolet Argentina Sales Fell Six Percent In April 2024

Although the vast majority of Chevrolet Argentina models suffered declines in April, the drastic increase in the best-selling Chevy Tracker stands out as a positive. The Tracker almost doubled its records year after year and once again occupied the position of the best-selling crossover in the country with a large advantage over its closest rival. This recovery of the subcompact utility vehicle mitigated the decline in sales thanks to a significant improvement in the inventory of units of the model in the dealer network.

On the contrary, the discontinued Chevy Cruze was the model that suffered the most significant drop, with a contraction close to half the sales volume it obtained in the same month last year. As such, the compact car was primarily responsible for the brand’s overall loss during the month. The Chevy Onix followed closely with another decisive reduction for the final balance.
