The 2024 Chevy Suburban represents the fourth model year of the 12th-gen extended-length, full-size SUV, for which it receives just one small change. In fact, if you have been followed our coverage of the Suburban’s smaller sibling, the 2024 Tahoe, then you already know what the change in question is.
Regardless, the one change is the deletion of the Auburn Metallic color (G48) from the color palette. Back in July, GM Authority reported on the final chance to order the 2024 Suburban in the Auburn Metallic color.
The discontinuation of Auburn Metallic leaves the following nine exterior colors in the Suburban’s exterior color lineup:
- Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
- Dark Ash Metallic
- Silver Sage Metallic
- Summit White
- Black
- Empire Beige Metallic
- Midnight Blue Metallic
- Radiant Red Tintcoat
- Sterling Gray Metallic
As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Suburban continues to be offered as an extended-length, full-size five-door SUV across the following trim levels:
- Commercial / Fleet (fleet buyers only)
- LS
- LT
- RST
- Z71
- Premier
- High Country
A shorter-length variant of the Suburban is sold as the Chevrolet Tahoe.
The 2024 Suburban carries over its two gasoline V8 engines and one straight six turbo-diesel Duramax engine from the 2021, 2022 and 2023 model years.
Engine | Fuel | Aspiration | Transmission | Drivetrain | Horsepower @ RPM | Torque @ RPM | Axle Ratio |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
5.3L L84 EcoTec3 V8 | Gasoline | Atmospheric | 10-Speed Automatic (MHS) | RWD or 4WD | 355 @ 5600 | 383 @ 4100 | 3.23 |
6.2L L87 EcoTec3 V8 | Gasoline | Atmospheric | 10-Speed Automatic (MHS) | RWD or 4WD | 420 @ 5600 | 460 @ 4100 | 3.23 |
3.0L LM2 Duramax I6 | Diesel | Turbocharged | 10-Speed Automatic (MQC) | RWD or 4WD | 277 @ 3750 | 460 @ 1500 | 3.23 |
Looking ahead, the big updates will come with the refreshed 2025 Suburban. As GM Authority reported in September, the refreshed model is expected to bring a slew of noteworthy updates such as revamped front and rear fascias, 24-inch wheel options, a revamped cockpit with larger screens, and a new diesel engine. Speaking of the diesel, we expect the new turbo-diesel baby Duramax engine to be offered on the Z71 trim level for the first time.
It’s worth noting that we initially expected these updates to arrive for the 2024 model year, but they will now arrive for the 2025 model year.
The updates and changes described here are specific to the U.S. market and may be different for other markets.

It looks good.
Nothing Changed???….Including The Price Since The 24′ Model Is Exactly The Same As The 23′ Model Except One Paint Scheme???
Actually the price did increase (which I believe in a prior gmauthority.com article, they had mentioned it was $2,000 in the base price).
