The 2024 Chevy Tahoe represents the fourth model year of the fifth-gen full-size SUV, for which it receives just one small change.
That change is the deletion of the Auburn Metallic color (G48) from the color palette. In fact, GM Authority reported on the final chance to order the 2024 Tahoe in this hue back in July.
The discontinuation of Auburn Metallic leaves the following nine exterior colors in the Tahoe’s exterior color lineup:
- Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
- Dark Ash Metallic
- Silver Sage Metallic
- Summit White
- Black
- Empire Beige Metallic
- Midnight Blue Metallic
- Radiant Red Tintcoat
- Sterling Gray Metallic
As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Tahoe continues to be offered as a full-size five-door SUV across the following trim levels:
- Commercial / Fleet (fleet buyers only)
- LS
- LT
- RST
- Z71
- Premier
- High Country
An extended-length variant of the Tahoe is sold as the Chevrolet Suburban.
The 2024 Tahoe carries over its two gasoline V8 engines and one straight six turbo-diesel Duramax engine from the 2021, 2022 and 2023 model years.
Engine | Fuel | Aspiration | Transmission | Drivetrain | Horsepower @ RPM | Torque @ RPM | Axle Ratio |

6.2L L87 EcoTec3 V8 | Gasoline | Atmospheric | 10-Speed Automatic (MHS) | RWD or 4WD | 420 @ 5600 | 460 @ 4100 | 3.23 |

Looking ahead, the big updates will come with the refreshed 2025 Tahoe. As we reported back in September, the refreshed model is expected to bring a slew of noteworthy updates such as revamped front and rear fascias, 24-inch wheel options, a revamped cockpit with a larger infotainment screen, and a new diesel engine. We also expect the new turbo-diesel Duramax engine to be offered on the Z71 trim level for the first time.
It’s worth noting that these updates were initially expected for 2024, but were pushed back to 2025.
The updates and changes described here are specific to the U.S. market and may be different for other markets.

There is nothing different. Still is an overpriced POS,
Underwhelming model year change for the best selling full size SUV. Come on GM you can do better especially since these are your top money makers. Are the product managers for the Tahoe / Yukon sleeping?
Once again ancient history being repeated again and again. You might as well make it colorful by also stating the $2100 price change vs competitors $100” price increase. Mary needs new shoes!
