The 2022 Cadillac XT5 is the sixth model year of the first-generation crossover, arriving with just a minor changes and updates over the preceding 2021 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned that General Motors has resolved the availability issues for the 2022 Cadillac XT5’s heated rear seat feature.
Starting with 2022 Cadillac XT5 units produced on or after February 21st, the Heated rear outboard seats feature, tagged with RPO code KA6, is no longer under constraint. The feature was previously facing availability issues as a result of the global microchip shortage, with Heated rear outboard seats under constraint since November 15th production.
Heated rear outboard seats is normally included and only available with Tri-zone automatic climate control, which is tagged with RPO code CJ4 and priced at $1,200. Tri-zone automatic climate control is offered on 2022 Cadillac XT5 Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels, but is not available on the base Luxury trim.
Meanwhile, further 2022 Cadillac XT5 features affected by the global microchip shortage continue to face availability issues, including the heated steering wheel feature, front and rear park assist, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. The Cadillac XT5 is one of several Cadillac models facing feature availability issues as a result of the shortage.
As a reminder, the 2022 Cadillac XT5 is available with two powertrain options, namely the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 235 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm, and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 271 pound-feet of torque at 5,000 rpm. Both engine options connect to the GM 9-speed automatic transmission.
Under the body panels, the 2022 Cadillac XT5 rides on the GM C1 platform. Production for the North American market takes place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

It’s only a matter of time until all the features are back on the XT5. The XT6 has been reported that it’s resolved the heated steering wheel issue as well so I expect that feature to be reinstated soon on the XT5. As for the wireless apple / android CarPlay , I never heard that feature was under constraints just that you couldn’t get the wireless charging plate. However, you could still connect your phones wirelessly to the radio in your vehicle. Is this not correct?
No heated seats in the winter. Perfect!
Funny, as soon as the heated seats return for the XT5, I get an email yesterday afternoon from GM my 2022 XT5 has been given a TBW of 03/07/22 !
After 7 long months of waiting,…. It will soon be here! 😃
