As we can see from the table, the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 also includes price increases as compared to equivalent pre-refresh 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Limited models.
As a reminder, the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 is offered with four engine options, starting with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, which produces 20 percent more torque for a maximum of 430 pound-feet, as GM Authority covered previously. The pickup also offers the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax.
Under the body panels, the pickup rides on the GM T1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Silao Plant in Mexico and the GM Fort Wayne Assembly facility in Indiana, as well as the GM Oshawa Plant in Canada later this spring.

Prices are F-ing luncacy, GM
1k average price increase, can’t get heated steering wheel or heated seats unless you spend 70k, get lost you a-holes!
Even more lunacy is the gullible American consumer CHOOSING to pay these prices.
Fortunately there’s plenty of pain & agony coming to those fools
Like we didn’t expect a price hike with the new models.
Are you surprised?
Across the board, the US is seeing price hikes of ~30-40%: Beef, poultry, fish, petroleum, steel, aluminum, electronics, used vehicles, etc., etc., etc..
Pick your poison. 🙁
What’s sad even if you could afford a new ice vehicle, gas prices and mob will make you switch to EV. I was in the market to get a new GM ice vehicle but now I feel I should wait as long as I can for how the EV thing bans out
Not bad really for the Biden economy. I was expecting something like rivians price hike of 12k
Can you PLEASE build the ZR2 in a single cab or double cab??????? WTF GM……Do something off the hook!!!!!!!!!!
I’m old enough to remember manufactures justifying the high cost of pickups to “offset losses of small gas efficient cars that they were required to provide to meet EPA gas standards.” Well, no one builds cheap small cars anymore so that excuse doesn’t hold water anymore. The high cost of pickups is just about at the tipping point, the point of no return, where buyers are just going to say, “I’m done. I’m can’t pay this and I’m never buying one again.”. I’m there, it happened to me. The cost of a new truck is truly ridiculous..
If you are that old like me then you remember the 70’s/80’s and prices rising and the economy sputtering, ie stagflation. I thought we had a good chance of seeing it again with the covid stimulus. Now with ukraine, it is guaranteed. Nothing is going to stop it. Oil/Wheat/Corn all just lost over 10% of production. Aluminum up, copper up, nickel up, …
I’d like to know if my truck is ever going to be built what happens when Fort Wayne starts the new refresh on march 14 will I be told they won’t build it cause it’s a ltd just waiting since December
I love how the new sales model is for you to “order” your vehicles; no more buying off the lot.. you apparently did just that and then your order isn’t prioritized. I can see this isn’t going to go well..
Parts vendor price increases due to increased costs of their sub tier vendors to the primary vendor. Caused by a huge string of downstream factors, Covid, transportation fuel price increases, tax increases, insurance increases, inflation increases, etc.. Approximately 90+ % of a cars parts are vendor sourced. Then you have to add factory warranty cost and increased employee wage and benefit cost margins and lastly the profit margin.
The only price rollbacks you will see are on the slow selling dogs.
All well and good but let’s not forget Mary Barra’s objective to finance the electric vehicle production off the backs of ICE vehicles. That’s the part I hate. They should stand on their own as should alternative energy development. Also, analyzing MSRP is only part of the equation and is what is always quoted. How about the fact that GM used to advertise 20% cash discount off MSRP as a sale price and now there are virtually no cash discounts available. That makes these actual price increases much greater than the change in MSRP indicates.
I wonder if this affects people that have already ordered. I have a preliminary order for a ZR2.
your cost is the cost at delivery not order. You should have signed something that MSRP could change.
You have a contract for a set price and a set product only with the dealer until GM accepts it; if GM has accepted that contract the price should be binding on GM. In the case of my Camaro ordered over eight months ago but not accepted yet by GM; if they hike the price I will be able to get my deposit back or have to agree to pay more. I will walk if they try to hike the contract price.
They need to scale the increase based on models. The high country should have a 2k price increase and the WT 0. LTZ 1800 and custom 200 and so on. Let those people who are driving the increase in truck costs and don’t use or need them in most cases pay for it and help out those that actually need and use a truck for work stay somewhat attainable. No reason a 35k and 75k truck should both have the same dollar increase. Do a percentage and apply it across the board. If you need a 2% increase then add that to each model at the very least.
I am not surprised by the increase.
So GM has record profits and chooses to continue to screw over their consumers so they can make even more money. How about passing along those savings to the consumers who kept you afloat for the last 2 years. This also didn’t take into account that they increased the prices on the packages AND locked more options into those packages. You guys are really going all in on those short terms profits over long term gains.
What’s even more sad is the gullible American consumer continuing to buy these overpriced low quality trucks.
Fortunately there’s plenty of pain & agony coming there way. Soaring fuel prices are just the beginning. Now we need 10% interest rates.
Fuel prices will be high for at least a year after the “big guy” is a spec of history.
Back to the ’70s when people will be chasing fuel economy and beater pickups will be 2nd vehicles for people who really need one.
Hahahaha.
Pity any fool that buys these overpriced, over complicated and unreliable new trucks.
Come on $5 a gallon gasoline, rising interest rates & a global recession.
Pain is the only way for people to learn.
Why is nobody blaming the Federal reserve and world central banks behind the this inflation? Keeping interest rates low buying up all the debt artificially inflating the market .
GM cancelled Market Place on the infotainment, didn’t notify customers or nothing. FU gm!
Would love to know the invoice cost on these.
Build it on the costo site. You’ll get the MSRP and Invoice costs.
Those aren’t accurate. Invoice on most trucks is about 7-9% below MSRP. Also manufacturer rebates come off the invoice price if we ever get those back
Final price will be determined by dealer. Ouch!
Anybody else happen to notice they’ve since (quietly) jumped ANOTHER $1200 since this post? My LT Trail Boss build that I ordered 1/4/22 (and should take delivery of in a few weeks) was ordered at $60,825, and is now showing at $63,225 in the online builder. I sure hope my guy plans on honoring that price upon delivery.
