Refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Configurator Now Live

The online configurator tool for the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 has officially gone live on the automaker’s website, allowing prospective customers to create their very own version of the full-size pickup.

With the online configurator tool, Chevy customers can choose their preferred Silverado body style and bed length, along with their desired powertrain, trim level and options and features. The tool also provides a pricing summary of the user’s created vehicle, thereby serving as an important shopping tool to help customers determine which specification suits their current financial situation, as well.

General Motors first unveiled the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 last September. The pickup introduces revised exterior styling to the nameplate, along with an all-new interior design and layout and new available technologies. A multitude of powertrains are offered, including the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine (which now produces 20 percent more torque for a total of 430 pound-feet), the atmospheric 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the atmospheric 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax. The pickup rides on the same GM T1 platform as the pre-refresh model.

The refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado lineup also introduces the new ZR2 off-road model variant, which adds unique front and rear fascias for improved approach and departure angles, advanced Multimatic DSSV dampers, front and rear e-lockers, 18-inch off-road alloy wheels with 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires. The ZR2 trim level is also available to customize in the online configurator tool.

The 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 is produced at the GM Fort Wayne Assembly plant in Indiana, as well as the GM Silao plant in Mexico. Production of the pickup is also set to commence at the GM Oshawa Assembly plant in Canada this year.

    1. I cant complain anymore *insert sad face here

  2. It’s also up on the supplier site as well but I don’t really know why. It tells you that it’s not eligible for the discount on the GMC model at least

  3. YES!!!! Already designed a few.. Refreshed GMC Sierra configuration is also live!

    1. Good I’m glad you got to play build with things you won’t buy.

  4. ZR2 is Bank. If GM ever did decide to put a super charged 6.2 in it, the price would be north of $75k, not to mention “market adjustments”. I remember seeing an old ad that said “Chevrolet, first and finest at lowest cost” or “You bet, we can afford a Chevrolet”. Not so much any more.

  5. Kinda wish we could get the 2.7 with leather bucket seats (only available with leather bench), that would be my ideal configuration based on how I would use the truck.

  6. Still just a tease since they wont be on lots for months at this point.

  7. I love the regular cab/short bed in Glacier Blue with every option it will let me select.

  8. The interior is such a vast improvement, especially when you compare it to the old interior that’s still in the lower trims. Not only is the old dash cheap and dated-looking, it’s also just ugly. It looks bulky and buttons/switches are really poorly integrated.

  9. As with everything this company does too little too late. Yes the pricier trim levels finally get the interior they should have had all along. And yes they finally mate both V8 engines with the 10 speed transmission as should have been the case before. The lower two trim levels have the same cheap interior as before with the same one color choice and are little changed other than being stuck with only the 4 cylinder engine and GM’s wonderful 8 speed transmission making it a non starter for many. Add in reduced desirable exterior color choices, reduced mileage ratings across the board, higher prices and not much else that has changed save a modified front end and it’s going to be more of the same with these trucks.

    2.7 Four Cylinder power .
    Sigh.

    1. With the improved torque I think the 2.7L is a solid choice. More horsepower than the 3.0L diesel, more torque than the 5.3L V8 (also more torque than the Ford 5.0 V8 and Hemi V8). Too bad it’s still paired with the 8 speed.

      1. Get a v8 or a 2/3 + truck, simple….

        1. That’s the plan

    2. my 5.3L L84 V8 8 speed has no issues pulling a 2500LBS Boat +equment+people payload around 800+,-pounds so it’s a truck and is not meant to be a sports car so get over it. Ok yes, the 6.2L L87 is a good engine but it needs premium fuel which turned me off from buying the 6.2L L87 V8. Keep in mind I don’t live in a flat state I live in SE Ohio.

  11. Why does the max tow package (I6 Duramax) still rate GVWR at 7300 lbs? Looks like the LTD version to me

    Reply
    1. The GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) doesnt change on the max tow package, the towing capacity does. GCWR (gross combined weight rating).

      Reply
    2. Im pretty sure previous year was 7100 GVWR with the diesel. The max tow just brings the GVWR up to the same as other trims. That means the payload should be around 2000 which is a bit dissapointing. I was really hoping for a 7400 GVWR on the diesel.

  12. Site double charges bucket seats with the 10 spd electronic transmission other options as well. I believe this has happened in other years. Features overlapping in packaging that double charge. They need to straighten out the configuration site. My optioned truck should come in cheaper.

    1. okay, so I’m not crazy after all. I was seeing that happening with the RST All Star package selected, it still seemed to be charging me for safety and leather packages.
wonder if Chevy will fix the configurator or if I’m just better off having my dealership price one out for me

p.s. Still wish I could get the 2.7L Crew Cab RST

  13. With gas heading towards $5 a gallon in the USA, how long until full size pickup & SUV sales crater?

    ( asking for a friend)

    Reply
    1. I mean gas is that price is Canada and trucks still fly off lots. Generally incomes are higher and taxes lower in the US too

      1. Finally got to the configurator for the new modifications and it lets me choose almost every option available for an LTZ and a high country. I saw a high country in a preview video in the glacier blue with blue interior. You can’t order one like that. LTZ’s and below only in the new blue. New blue interior is also black and the new blue not just blue. Took my spec sheet to my dealer and he couldn’t order very many packages because they are still very restricted on options because of the chip shortage. Suppose to be able to order high country will all options but you can’t yet.

    2. Next to never…gas was $4+ in ’08 and ’12 trucks still flew off lots albeit slower then the “good times”, even in the ’70s big cars still sold after the Gas Crunches but CAFE not gas prices shrank cars.

Now you have 4cly and turbo 6 trucks that get more power/economy then the past relics. The Maverick is actually attracting Civic buyers now..

      Reply
      1. You’re forgetting that in 08 and 12 we had insane manufacturer rebates. It wasn’t uncommon to walk off the lot paying 10k or more under MSRP. The only reasons trucks sold were because they were heavily discounted.

        Reply
        1. The discount helped but still the F150/Silverado/Ram were the best sellers those years, as said in my previous post if I have a 2.7 Silver or a E- Torque Ram 1500 that gets the same milage as a v6 Camry but with the security of 4×4, superior tow/haul capabilities, the Camry is the one looking like a relic of the past.

          1. The RAMs just dont have the payload capacity I need for towing a travel trailer. Id need to go up to a 3500. That’s why I was really looking forward to the diesel tow package. Most people really dont need a 1/2 ton truck or a truck at all, it’s become a status symbol these days. Just like the people you see driving tahoes with no one else in it. Sedans are honestly still the better choice for most families. Hell, my 2015 GTI gets 28 mpg in the city and I jave a heavy foot.

  14. Pricing is insanity, I’m looking at $80,000+13%, so $90,000 (Canadian), for an optioned RST. That’s a mid level trim!

Interior is exceptional, but F me it can stay on the lot for that price. Rather keep my 2012 as the tow+haul vehicle and buy a loaded crossover for $35k as my daily driver.

  15. I “built” mine. A 2.7 LT Trail Boss in dark ash metallic. Looks amazing.
Chose the 2.7 in case I will have to hyper mile it (way things are are looking, gas prices will keep going crazy)

  16. Nice to see the RCSB back, but it can’t be configured very well.
Just the base W/T trim and 4 cyl engine.

    Stupid.

    Reply
    1. Probably the most optioned RCSB is going to be a ford

  17. I have said this 1 million times on here before but it is maddening that you can’t get 373 gears with the off-road Z 71 package ,if you get max towing you lose skid plates Z 71 etc. ,hill descent ,effing morons! Not to mention they offer short bed regular cab and leave only work truck options!

  18. Honestly I wish Sedans would make a comeback. I personally prefer cars and im going to be sad to see my GTI go but we need a new tow vehicle and a hauler since we moved to a bigger house.

If the people who didn’t need a truck would go back to family sedans maybe we’d have reasonable prices. If I didn’t need a truck for towing I’d be using an old nissan hardbody.

I do agree people need to let off the 4cyl and V6s, these modern engines are outperforming most old engines by miles and they’re stuxk in the old ways of V8 best

One thing people forget though are that turbo gas engines arent great for towing since the torque is at higher RPMs. If the Tundra had better payload/towing numbers id love that hybrid V6. It’s all the benefits of diesel with the benefits of a turbo gas engine.

  19. Hey Folks,
Any idea when the live configurator will be on the Canadian website (chevrolet.ca)? Also, wondering what incentives/discounts there will be (if any)?

    Thanks,
    Jay

    1. They are eligible for employee pricing, the configurator was messed up yesterday, it’s all good now. I ordered a new 2022 High Country back in late December knowing they we’re not getting produced until mid to late February, mine was produced this week under the GM employee purchase plan and is expected to arrive at the dealer around the 21st of March.

  20. The trucks just went into production in Mexico the week of February 21st, i ordered mine on December 19th knowing they we’re not going into production in February. My new 2022 refresh High Country was built this week i have a vin number and is expected to be at the dealer March 21st. I also get the family employee discount which on the new build a price that the Silverado is not eligible which is a mistake which i found out from my dealer yesterday. This is not all GM’s fault all the other manufacturers all the others having the same issues , this to me is an issue created by our great government, if we vote correct in the fall we can all help in fixing these issues

    1. Its a shame that when you’re buying an American truck, trying to support American workers, that it’s actually built in another country with cheap labor, none of which is passed on to you, the customer. I’m cancelling my ordered (and built) High Country, and won’t be buying Chevy until they are built here.

  22. I’m not seeing that any of the models include heated or ventilated seats. I read that GM resolved those issues, but it doesn’t seem you even get the $50 credit anymore. Am I missing something?

  23. The canadian Chevrolet configurator is up too now, under the section upcoming vehicles / Silverado (there is a button on that page on the right…).

In my case, for the truck I ordered, the update 2022 model vs the older LTD model cost 2,800$ more and the finance rate is 3.99% vs 1.99% (1.99% for the old model).

GM are pushing hard on the price, we are almost in Cadillac / Suburban / Denali / German brand territory for well equipped pickup trucks… 🙁

  25. Just tried to place an order for a double cab configuration with multi-flex tailgate at my dealer. System wouldn’t take the order stating that the multi-flex is not being offered with standard or double cabs (only crew cabs). GMAuthority- HELP! Can you find out more about this? This is extremely frustrating! I only started looking at Chevy’s because of the multi-flex and have been waiting for the refreshed interior. Now only to find out I can’t order what I want/what I can configure online.
