General Motors is celebrating a quarter century of the GMC Denali sub-brand with the launch of a new special edition variant of the 2025 GMC Yukon full-size SUV. The special edition package includes a selection of aesthetic upgrades that enhance the exterior of GMC Yukon Denali and Denali Ultimate trims. GM introduced a mid-cycle refresh for the Yukon in conjunction with the 2025 model year.
The original GMC Yukon Denali hit the market in 1999, and the sub-brand has since expanded to include a wide range of models. GM now offers Denali-branded trim levels for the GMC Sierra and Sierra HD, GMC Sierra EV, GMC Canyon, GMC Terrain, and GMC Acadia.
The name is a nod to the highest mountain peak in North America, also known as Mount McKinley, which is located in Alaska and stands a staggering 20,310 feet above sea level.
“From the original GMC Yukon Denali to the cutting-edge Sierra EV Denali launched in 2024, this year marks a quarter century of Denali trucks and SUVs, with more than 2 million vehicles sold in the U.S.,” GM states. “Denali accounted for over 30 percent of GMC retail sales in 2024.”
To mark the occasion, GM is offering the 2025 GMC Yukon with the limited-edition 25th Anniversary Denali Package. The special edition package is available for Denali and Denali Ultimate trims, and will be limited to less than 3,000 units.
The package offers several exterior aesthetic upgrades, including:
- Black 24-inch wheels with black center caps
- Black mesh grille
- Black illuminated front GMC emblem
- Black nameplates and badging
- Black mirror caps
The package is tagged with RPO code PDK, and is priced at $5,495 for Denali trims, and $4,395 for Denali Ultimate trims. Check out our previous coverage for in-depth 2025 GMC Yukon pricing information, including all of the options and packages on offer.
As a reminder, the 2025 Yukon offers three engine options, including the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine. Denali and Denali Ultimate trims are only available with the 6.2L V8 L87 and 3.0L I6 LZ0.
Under the skin, the 2025 GMC Yukon rides on the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

If I had the $ for a Denali, I’d just get a Cadillac. I’ve never understood the Denali bit. At all.
And yet you could only afford a Trax.
@GMC Fan
Most people can only afford a Trax, but they THINK they can go big!! So they finance themselves into 7 or 8 years of ballooned payments, just to drive around a depreciating asset. I’d rather have my house that already has gotten me +$310K in profit. To many people have their priorities backwards.
To be fair, Beachy complains about everything if you haven’t noticed. He complained about the Envista and how ‘cheap it is made’, but then proceeded to buy an Encore GX. He also just complained about the price of an Escalade, thinking the new body style should have $13k discounts. Now he doesn’t see the value in a Denali – which can be significantly less money than an Escalade with similar content.
Yeah, beachy and a few others on here are so predictable with the complaining. It must be exhausting to be so miserable.
Considering the Denali starts 10k less and can be optioned with more features at a lower price point; not to mention with the amount of sales, is it really hard not to comprehend why people buy it?
This package is funny. Black wheels, black mirror caps (that look horribly out of place with painted handle) and some black badges for five grand? Money doesn’t buy taste, wonder when the black wheels and trim fad will die?
Those were the comfiest seats ever produced in an SUV back in the early 2000’s. Now, the cheap so called leather they used was terrible, but those seats never let my body down! GM needs to bring back comfy seats.
They should also send a thank you letter to Ford for providing there was a market for well equipped trucks. This all started with the Eddie Bauer sub brand. GM was still trying to keep the Buick, Olds, and Cadillac land yachts alive until they realized Ford was on to something.
