Missing the boat by ending sedans, but BRAINLESS BARRA will fing out soon enough.
I think GM is actually correct in ending the Malibu. I like sedans and having driven several different offerings, the Malibu isn’t bad in high trim levels. It’s the question of competitiveness where the Malibu falls short. It has never been a front runner in any sales market except maybe rentals or non-manager corporate cars. Even when renting, I would often chose a Nissan, Hyundai or Toyota because the Malibu offerings were base trim penalty boxes. I hate to see it go since there are many Americans that just need reliable, inexpensive transportation and if the price could be reduced, it would be great in that role.
Maybe if they’d have taken the thing seriously and not let it get to this point it might be staying around.
