The 2025 Chevy Malibu arrives as the final model year of the Bow Tie sedan’s ninth generation. The only changes or updates to the vehicle are a few adjustments to the available packages and the addition of one new option to the lineup of 2025 Chevy Malibu colors.
No exterior colors were dropped from the sedan’s available palette for its final year. Instead, the list of 2025 Chevy Malibu colors gains Night Shade Metallic (color code GXF), increasing the total paint options to seven from the six offered for the 2024 model year.
Notably, all of the 2025 Chevy Malibu colors are available on all trim levels – LS, RS, 1LT, and 2LT – with the exception of the single extra-charge color, Radiant Red Tintcoat (color code GNT). This paint choice, priced at an additional $495, is offered on all trim levels except for the entry-level LS. All other paint colors are offered at no extra cost.
The following table summarizes availability and other relevant information about the seven 2025 Chevy Malibu colors that can be ordered on the sedan’s last ninth-gen model year:

Pricing for the 2025 Chevy Malibu was uncovered by GM Authority in May, with slight price increases relative to the 2024 model year. The entry-level LS trim features a starting MSRP of $26,995, while the most expensive trim, the 2LT, starts at $32,695. The official configurator for the model is currently live on the Chevrolet site, enabling buyers to try out various builds for the sedan.
Production of the Malibu will end this year, freeing up factory space for the next-generation all-electric Chevy Bolt EV. The fate of the Chevy Malibu is uncertain at this point. Production of the 2025 model year was recently pushed back a second time to Thursday, July 18th, 2024.
The 2025 Chevy Malibu is motivated by a single powerplant choice – the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LFV gasoline engine developing 163 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. This engine is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
The GM E2 platform provides the Malibu’s bones under the body panels. Production of the Bow Tie’s last sedan model takes place at the GM Fairfax plant in Kansas City.

>>> Why the car makers, other than RR, BMW, Bentley and Smart or Opel, does not know what is colour GREEN without aditional price. ? Mean the car makers in North America till South America do not know what is GREEN, Europeans sometimes still do. Asia also not. Why ? it must have been at least 3 shadows of green, turquoise, turmalines ….
It’s in it’s dying death throws anyway…. How many of you eventhat it was even still in production??
My 3 Favorite Color for Malibu :
1 Silver
2. Cherry Red
3. White
I wish interior dark / red and beige and mokka …
There are seven cars pictured but only two could be considered colors. Totally pathetic.
Summers have seen record breaking heat. Why can’t auto manufacturers produce autos with light color interiors instead of black? Exterior gray, white and black are not colors. What happened to creativity in car colors?
I just rented a black Malibu for a week with Tan Interior. It was a very striking and comfortable car. It was a 2024 rented from Dollar. The strange part about it was that it had in-dash Navigation and Text message notification in dash. I though GM disabled that feature in 2019 ?
I’ve yet to find an exterior/interior color that is ‘cooler’ in 100-degree summers. I think that’s all in people’s heads. Whether the interior is tan or it’s black, it’s going to be hot.
The more colors the more cost is added to a car. That is why you get two or three at best. Also lighter colors do not sell well on the lower end as they get dirty so easy. If you saw how dirty the black interiors are you would understand.
The colors above are what generally sell. They are not selling a ton of these cars to start with to call for slow selling colors. The CUV model are now starting to offer more colors and new colors. They have the volume.
The more expensive the vehicle the more options.
I hope you mean dark colors show the dirt. Your black interior comment is an excellent example.
We might have order this last real chevy sedan in read metallic like our two Chevy Cruzes. Gone is the 6 speed AT. Darn it. Shame that GM is almost throwing in the towel on catering to Americans wanting a stylish American sedan. Durable and peppy engine with fun and safe handling. Probably a mistake in the long run to withdraw.
Perhaps I am mistaken but does the Night Shade Metallic have a hint of very deep purple or plum in it?
That’s an unusual color that I could/would go for, speaking for myself! The GM suits have really failed at developing the Malibu to what it should be: a sedan with either a mild Hybrid powerplant or a powerful Six to combat Toyota and alike. What a pity!
They have had since the 70’s to beat Toyota and Honda in this segment. Not only could they not do, newcomers Hyundai and Kia came in and bested GM , Ford, and Chrysler. SUPER SAD!
Sad everything is SUV ! I can see pickup trucks but squint your eyes at all 16 manufactures lined up in a row they all look the same ! Like a street pic of early american city ! Save the car for goodness sake !
