While the arrival of the Corvette E-Ray was undoubtedly the most notable update to the Corvette C8 lineup for the 2024 model year, America’s sports car also received several other changes as well, including new wheel design choices. That being said, GM recently compiled a list of the most popular 2024 Corvette wheels thus far.
With a total of 22 distinct wheel options on offer across all three Vette variants, here are the most popular rollers for the 2024 Corvette Stingray as of April 1st, 2024.
Wheels | RPO | Percentage |
---|---|---|
5-open-spoke Bright Silver-painted aluminum wheel | Q8P | 25 |
5-open-spoke Carbon Flash-painted aluminum wheel with machined edge | Q8Q | 24 |
20-spoke Gloss Black forged aluminum wheel | Q9I | 21 |
20-spoke Midnight Gray forged aluminum wheel with Red stripe | Q9A | 13 |
20-spoke bright machined-face forged aluminum wheel | Q99 | 11 |
5-split-spoke Satin Graphite forged aluminum wheel with machined edge | Q9O | 4 |
5-split-spoke machined-face Sterling Silver-painted forged aluminum wheel | Q9Y | 2 |
As evidenced above, the most popular 2024 Corvette Stingray wheel was the standard-issue five-open-spoke Bright Silver-painted aluminum wheel (RPO code Q8P) at 25 percent, followed closely by the optional five-open-spoke Carbon Flash-painted aluminum wheel with machined edge (RPO code Q8Q) at 24 percent.
Moving onto the 2024 Corvette Z06, here are the most popular rollers for the C8 Z06 as of April 1st, 2024.
Wheels | RPO | Percentage |
---|---|---|
Spider design, Black forged aluminum wheel | SOA | 47 |
Spider design, Titanium Satin forged aluminum wheel | SOE | 19 |
Spider design, Satin Graphite forged aluminum wheel | SOC | 14 |
Spider design, machined-face forged aluminum wheel | SOD | 7 |
Visible carbon fiber wheel | ROZ | 7 |
Carbon Flash-painted carbon fiber wheel | ROY | 3 |
Visible carbon fiber wheel with Red stripe | STZ | 3 |
By far the most popular wheel was the optional Spider design, Black forged aluminum wheel (RPO code SOA) with 47 percent of buyers going this route. Likely to little surprise, the trio of carbon fiber wheels landed at the bottom of the list due to price and availability.
Finally, here are the most popular rollers for the 2024 Corvette E-Ray as of April 1st, 2024.
Wheels | RPO | Percentage |
---|---|---|
Bright polished forged aluminum wheel | SOM | 28 |
Pearl Nickel forged aluminum wheel | ROU | 24 |
Carbon Flash forged aluminum wheel with machined edge | ROX | 17 |
Visible carbon fiber wheel | ROZ | 10 |
Gloss Black forged aluminum wheel | SON | 7 |
Carbon Flash-painted carbon fiber wheel | ROY | 7 |
Visible carbon fiber wheel with Red stripe | STZ | 7 |
The optional Bright polished forged aluminum wheel (RPO code SOM) claimed the top spot for the Corvette E-Ray with 28 percent, while the standard Pearl Nickel forged aluminum wheel (RPO code ROU) stood in second at 24 percent. As was the case with the Corvette Z06, the carbon fiber wheels are generally some of the least popular rollers.
The Corvette’s LPO or dealer-installed wheels are not included in these lists as they are ordered as a second set of wheels.
As a reminder, the 2024 Corvette is available in three distinct configurations, including the Corvette Stingray and the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, rated at 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque in standard form, the Corvette Z06 and its naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine, rated at 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and finally the Corvette E-Ray and its combination of the LT2 engine and a front-mounted electric motor producing a total of 655 horsepower.
In regard to structure, all Corvette C8 models ride on the GM Y2 platform, while production takes place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

How the heck can the Q9I be popular when the damned things have been on constraint for 3 years
Silver wheels are for geezers! The higher take rate of carbon wheels on E-Ray’s must be more of a factor of more recent availability and the E-Ray’s recent production.
Chrome and polished wheels are popular with “geezers” because we have acquired refined taste in automotive equipment. 90% of the “hot cars” I see in my area have the “murdered out” motif which I personally find quite offensive. Not to mention it’s so common as to be boring. YMMV.
