Chevy Silverado Is The Best-Selling Full-Size Pickup Among Hispanic Buyers Again

Way back in 2021, GM Authority reported that the Chevy Silverado was the top-selling pickup among Hispanic buyers. With that in mind, the Bow Tie brand’s full-size truck has once again claimed the title as the best-selling pickup among this specific demographic.

Based on data from S&P Global Mobility, the Chevy Silverado was the top-selling truck of U.S. Hispanic buyers for the 10th consecutive year. This figure was derived from new personal U.S. vehicle registrations for the 2014 to 2023 calendar years.

“This milestone is a great accomplishment for the brand,” Chevrolet Trucks Marketing Director Amy Masica remarked. “We know our customers depend on capable, reliable trucks from a brand they trust, and we are proud Chevrolet Silverado continues to deliver.”

It’s worth noting that the Bow Tie brand remains the third best-selling brand overall among U.S. Hispanic buyers. In addition, Chevy retail sales are up 11 percent from 2022 to 2023.

As a reminder, the current Silverado 1500 is available with a plethora of powerplant options, including the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline TurboMax, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax, rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.

Meanwhile, the Silverado HD is offered with one of two powerplant options, including the standard naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, and the optional 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax, rated at 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque.

Regarding structure, both Silverado variants ride on versions of the GM T1 platform. Production of the Silverado 1500 takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, the GM Silao plant in Mexico, and the GM Oshawa plant in Canada, while the HD units are produced at the GM Flint plant in Michigan and the GM Oshawa facility.
