After being the first to tell you that the refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4 would feature a huge instrument panel and infotainment screen over 30 inches wide, and then further reporting that the updated crossover will get GM’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assistance system, GM Authority has now obtained the very first images of the XT4 with Super Cruise.
Back in June 2022, GM Authority was the first to report that the XT4 would get both, the enormous screen and Super Cruise. We reported these upcoming features before either GM itself or Cadillac made any announcements about the new elements to be included in the refreshed model.
Months later, when the 2024 Cadillac XT4 was announced, it did feature the 33-inch, 9K-resolution LED color touchscreen directly from the Cadillac Lyriq. However, Super Cruise was not part of the features list. As Cadillac Global Vice President Rory Harvey explained at a pre-reveal press conference, “Super Cruise is not available, but we do have a plan to introduce it at a point in time.” He added that the system was part of the vehicle’s “rollout plan.”
Fast forward to today: the images presented in this article show the tell-tale LED indicator embedded at the top of the 2024 Cadillac XT4‘s steering wheel, showing that the technology – which enables the driver to remove his or her hands from the steering wheel for lengthy periods of driving on the highway – is installed and integrated into the vehicle.
The images in question can be found in the 2024 Cadillac XT4 configurator, which went live in May 2022,. Navigating to the images requires configuring an XT4, selecting “Options” and then “Safety,” where certain packages include images of the XT4 equipped with Super Cruise.
Interestingly, while the configurator does not include Super Cruise as an available option, the steering wheel with the Super Cruise LED indicator is shown as the lead image for various packages, including (but possibly not limited to) the following:
- Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking
- Speed Limit Assist
- Side Bicyclist Alert
- Rear Pedestrian Alert
- Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking
- Reverse Automatic Braking
These signs point toward Super Cruise being added to the Cadillac XT4 options list soon.
As a reminder, the 2024 XT4 introduces the mid-cycle refresh for the small luxury crossover. The addition of GM’s Global B electronic platform enables the inclusion of advanced technologies such as the latest iterations of Super Cruise.
For motivation, the 2024 XT4 continues to rely on the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine developing 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, paired with the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.
Production of the 2024 Cadillac XT4 kicked off on April 24th, 2022 at the GM Fairfax Assembly plant in Kansas City.

Nice refresh. Wish they could fit a more powerful engine under that hood though.
Are these popular relative to the competition?
I was seriously considering the XT4 after having two Lincoln Corsairs with the larger engines. Once I test drove the XT4 with the only engine offered I said “no way” and got a Jaguar F-pace!
Great, now put the upgrades in the XT5.
XT5 is done after 25, no refresh scheduled
Wrong, It was originally slated exclusively for China only with the upgrades, but they reconsidered that decision and are going to make it available to the US buyers now. They thought with the elimation of that model here ,the intended buyers would buy the Lyriq . They were wrong ,so instead of losing them to another vehicle maker ,they are going to offer the 2025 XT5 here, to try are keep their customers.
@FrankRizzo, where are you hearing that from. I also thought the XT5 is done after the 2025 model year too and I am the General Sales Manager of a Cadillac dealership.
My regional trainer was at my store literally today and said it’s still currently done after 25.
China get the XT5 upgrade ,we are SOL IN THIS COUNTRY.
