Chevy Malibu Discount Reaches $1,250 In March 2023

In March 2023, a Chevy Malibu discount totals up to $1,250 for select markets on the 2022 Chevy Malibu and $500 on the 2023 Chevy Malibu.

The Bow Tie brand also offers low-interest financing for up to 72 months on the 2022 and 2023 Malibu.

Additionally, a national lease is available on the 2022 Malibu LT for $259 per month for 24 months, for current lessees of a 2018 model year or newer vehicle, plus local market leases on 2022 and 2023 models.

Shown here is the Chevy Malibu, currently the only sedan on sale from the Bow Tie brand.

Chevy Malibu Pricing

For reference, here are the 2023 Chevy Malibu starting MSRPs by trim level, including the $1,095 destination freight charge:

  • LS – $25,795
  • RS – $26,795
  • LT – $29,195
  • 2LT – $32,595

The 2023 Chevy Malibu ushers in a variety of important changes and updates compared to the preceding 2022 model year. Along with a price increase of $1,300 on most trims, the midsize sedan no longer offers the Premier trim level nor the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LTG gasoline engine that powered it along with the GM nine-speed automatic transmission. Going forward, the 2023 Malibu is available exclusively with the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LFV gasoline engine, which mates to the MRG continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). This combination was previously offered for all 2022 model-year Chevy Malibu trim levels, with the exception of the Premier. Output is rated at 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque.

Chevy has now repackaged the Premier as the new 2LT trim level. As a result, the 2023 Malibu’s top trim now costs $2,000 less than that of the 2022 model. Additionally, two of the Malibu’s dealer-installed convenience packages are no longer available to order.

The upcoming 2024 Chevy Malibu is not expected to introduce any major changes compared to the 2023 model year.

However, GM is planning a next-generation, 2025 Chevy Malibu. The midsize sedan’s future may have finally been decided with this latest news.

Production for the 2023 Chevy Malibu kicked off at the GM Fairfax plant in Kansas City on September 7th, 2022. The online configurator tool is live for the 2023 Malibu.

Production of the 2024 Chevy Malibu is set to kick off on June 21st.

  1. Wouldn’t buy this crappy car for nothing. They just hold on to it but cancel the impala which was better in every way.

    1. Impala should have been saved, lightly reskinned, discounted to Malibu price & positioned as an Accord killer.
The drop in price wouldn’t have harmed GM since 1) design was already paid for long ago 2) GM has no other car in this segment 3) long wheel base models are not inherently more expensive.
Impala was so good even Consumer Reports ranked it tops. I’m assuming these discounts are intended to keep Malibu ahead of Kia and Hyandai; however, it’s way too expensive. I like Malibu’s steering/overall driving dynamics and quiet ride but interior is cheap.
