2023 Corvette Z06 Gets Visible Carbon Fiber Grille Insert

The Chevy Corvette Z06 is GM’s answer to sports cars and supercars alike. While developed as a track weapon capable of putting German and Italian supercars to shame, Chevy has recently been focused on offering more accessories for the C8 Corvette. Now, the 2023 Z06 gets a new grille insert.

Visible Carbon Fiber grille insert.

This new accessory is the Visible Carbon Fiber grille insert (RPO code RZ9), and will be available as an LPO, or dealer-installed part. Additionally, this new part will be offered as a Genuine Corvette Accessory.

This grille insert will set customers back $2,125, and will be available to order on all trim levels (1LZ, 2LZ, 3LZ) for both coupe and convertible Z06 body styles.

It’s worth noting that this add-on was already offered on the Corvette Stingray, so it’s only new for the Z06.

This isn’t the only visible carbon fiber part just announced for the C8. Recently, GM Authority reported that the Corvette Stingray is getting the new Visible Carbon Fiber door intake trim, while both the Stingray and the Z06 receive the Visible Carbon Fiber High Wing Spoiler aero option as well.

As a reminder, the 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 is powered by the naturally-aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine. This high-revving screamer pushes out 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Under the body panels, the C8 rides on the GM Y2 platform, just like every C8 Corvette.

Meanwhile, production takes place exclusively at the GM bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

  1. i’ve read, here i believe, that GM/Chevy was going to effectively try to prevent customers from selling their Z06 by not allowing them to buy another high end vehicle for a certain period of time. That’s well and good, but let’s be fair and do it to the dealerships as well! some of their Z06’s are listed at $185k!! wtfo! that’s probably over $200k with taxes, etc

    1. Good point. If gm can punish the buyers. Then why can’t they punish the dealers!

I’m enjoying my C8 Stingray. A Stingray in the garage is better than a Z06 on order.

  2. since my effort to purchase a Z06 were a complete failure, as in a supply failure.
I am investing in my Stingray. wheels 20×10 and 21×13 with michelin sport tires.
about $8000 ( highly customized wheels), magnuson supercharger, about $30,000 installed.
carbon fiber no where, those prices and that money better spent elsewhere.
Although i really wanted overhead cams and high rpm’s. if they sell Z06 motor in a crate i will get that. otherwise a F430 or maybe a 458 Italia might be in my future.
i wish all Z06 owners good times and good luck. and if you get chance , a stingray C8 is an awesome car. no joke. I love mine.

  3. Sigh……more parts for a car that is unobtainable.

  4. I am on the wait list for the Z06. The configuration came in at $172k which surprised me. I should have never canceled my C8R order in lieu of the Z06. The worst mistake I ever made given the Z06 delays. I am willing to pay the $172K MSRP for the car, but the dealership told me if I am lucky it will be 2024 or 2025 before I see it. GM needs to reaccess its Z06 strategy/production and marketing otherwise they are going to lose a lot of customers like myself to competitors.

    1. If it’s any consolation. I’m sure you’re not the only one to believe the hype and cancel a C8 Stingray order for a Z06. I waited nearly 11 months. I can’t even imaging having to wait until 2024 or 2025. Good luck.
