C8 Corvette Stars As Pizza Delivery Chase Car In Pepsi Ad: Video

The C8 Corvette Stingray takes on the role of chase vehicle in a recent funny Pepsi video advertisement, handing over a case of the beverage to folks who ordered pizza delivery. The video brings a literal take to the concept of “chasing your pizza with a Pepsi,” showing the mid-engine Vette in hot pursuit of pizza deliveries to ensure customers get a cold soda to pair with their meal.

The ad is a little over a minute long.

The ad opens with a Pepsi delivery driver rushing to a front door, startling a pizza delivery driver already there. The video then transitions to a blue C8 Corvette Stingray sliding through an intersection in pursuit of a pizza delivery driver in a white Chevy Spark.

The over-the-top scenario is underscored by a witty exchange between two Pepsi drivers sitting the C8 Corvette:

“We follow pizza drivers, make sure the customers get a Pepsi,” one says.

“Is that legal?” asks another.

“That’s a gray area,” comes the deadpan reply.

The C8 Corvette remains a central figure throughout the video, appearing alongside various pizza deliveries in increasingly amusing situations. In one scene, a Pepsi delivery driver follows a slow-moving pizza delivery cyclist who motions for them to pass. “Not going anywhere, pal,” the Pepsi driver quips.

Another highlight involves the Corvette rolling alongside an autonomous pizza delivery vehicle gliding down a sidewalk.

The Corvette in question is covered in attractive blue paint, and includes the Pepsi logo up front and on the doors. On top of the roof is a large Pepsi can model.

Indeed, the C8 Corvette Stingray should have the performance needed to keep pace with pizza delivery drivers in a rush, with the C8 Corvette Stingray motivated by the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, rated at 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque in standard guise. The C8 rides on the GM Y2 platform and is produced at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

  1. Wrong! Coke tastes better with Pizza Hut. Pepsi is good with Taco Bell. All terrible for you health tho.
