GM Introduces 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate

GM has applied its new Denali Ultimate nameplate to the 2023 GMC Yukon after the ultra-luxurious trim level was first introduced on the refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup earlier this year.

The new 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate is described by GM as “the most premium Yukon ever offered.” The new range-topping trim level is easily identifiable thanks to its unique Vader Chrome exterior trim, polished chrome window and door panel trim and model-specific 22-inch seven-spoke ultra-bright machined wheels with bright chrome accents and dark paint.

Inside, the 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate receives Alpine Umber full-grain leather upholstery in the first, second and third-rows, 16-way power front seats with massaging functionality, Denali Ultimate-exclusive contrasting stitching, aluminum trim decor, genuine Paldao woodgrain trim and an 18-speaker Bose Premium Series audio system with stainless steel door and headrest speaker grilles. GMC’s 10.2-inch diagonal premium infotainment system with Google built-in, Amazon Alexa built-in and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is offered as standard equipment.

Just like the standard GMC Yukon Denali, the Denali Ultimate trim will come standard with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque and mated to a GM 10-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Precision Shift. The 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine, which is rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, is also available on this trim level as a no-cost option. GM’s hands-free, semi-autonomous Super Cruise system will also be offered on the Denali Ultimate as an optional extra.

To be clear, the 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate differs from the Denali Ultimate Package (RPO Code PEC) that’s offered on the 2022 GMC Yukon Denali as an option. While that was an equipment package that could be applied to the Denali trim, this is an all-new trim level that further differentiates the Denali Ultimate from the standard Denali with even more upmarket equipment.

Pricing for the 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate is not yet available. All GMC Yukon models ride on the GM T1 platform and are produced at the GM Arlington Assembly plant alongside the Cadillac Escalade and Chevy Tahoe and Suburban.

        1. Dear GM, PLEASE OFFER THE 3/4 TON YUKON AND SUBURBAN AGAIN!

          1. They do for government. Higher tow ratings for current platform make it unnecessary and low demand make it too costly.

  2. Just a guess but since the previous Denali Ultimate topped out around $90k this will be north of $100k.

  3. Rear media and wireless charging will be taken away before the ordering process even starts! Rear media might not be an option at all!

And they definitely need to have a black interior option. Everyone is already asking about this on other media outlets.

    1. Yes, since these Denali Ultimates aren’t “cowboy” themed trucks like the Laramie Longhorn, King Ranch and 1794, black leather seating surfaces should be offered at least as an option.

      1. I think GM should offer some “cowboy” trucks

      2. Denali is a rich urban cowboy version. JR Ewing Version.

  4. Just announced: In 2025, GMC will begin to offer the Yukon XL Denali Utlimate Premium Super Fantastic Look at me I can spend too much money package. You know, for those who just can’t show off enough with “just” a Denali.

      1. saunupe1911: Sure. I have zero problem with that. What I find stupid is that they sell people on the Denali trim being the best. Now it’s not. I recall being at the GMC dealership when we had SL, SLE and the “top trim” SLT. Then came the big news of the Denali and it being the best. Guess not.

This all boils down to some people having way too much money and not knowing how to outdo the neighbors. Not only that, but why intrude even more into Escalade territory?

        1. Yep I agree. I actually told my dealer that you basically have me ordering an SLT with a Denali badge once they started taking away so many features.

But GM has smarten up. The only allow certain features with the upper trims and higher prices…such as massaging seats and rear media (which should be available regardless of trim).

Jeep has stole this philosophy and put it on steroids with the 6 different Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer trims. Each trim unlocks another luxury, performance, or cosmetic feature smh.

        2. GMC customers are not always Cadillac customers. People have different tastes in luxury. The old GM would have you buy sequentially from Chevy to Cadillac where increase in price meant increase in quality on all levels. Those days are over.

Some people don’t want everything that goes with the Cadillac look and image. That’s why you have High Country and Denali.

If people are willing to dole out the money, why do you care whether it makes sense or not? gm’s job is to make money.

          1. Agree with this completely. Personally, would love a Suburban option trimmed out at the highest level, but completely under the radar. No badges, except “Suburban” with nice quality no-bling trim. Keep it in the $125K range and I believe you would sell a few thousand of them to people that just don’t want to be noticed, or just don’t see themselves in a Escalade or a Denali. Perfect for successful business owner types that don’t want to send the wrong message, or old money types that like to be low-key.

  5. Wow, people complain that GM doesn’t offer interior options other than Black. Now GM offers a color that’s not black and people complain that it’s not offered in black.

Guess you’ll just have to spec out a Denali with all the options including the black leather and suffer.

It really does prove that so many are never going to be satisfied.

      1. And now GM has given you the option to upgrade to a Denali Ultimate. If you must have black leather, you still have the option to select a Denali and add options so it’s equipped similar to a Denali.

Now please list all features that you have on your SLT that are no longer available on a new SLT?

        Reply
        1. I never said I had an SLT. People like you try their best to sound intelligent but end up posting the most ignorant stuff. Reading comprehension is a lost art smh.

I honestly don’t have time to explain all the features that GM has taken away from the current gen Denali. Heck GM Authority has posted too many articles about each feature as is!!!! And this Ultimate has features that the Denali previously had that you simply can’t add anymore. Pure BS. Good night.

  6. They left out the part about super cruise. It clearly shows in the Photos that the steering wheel will have it. To me that’s the biggest seller for this package.

  10. Instead of offering more luxurious models that you will not be able to deliver. How about fix the supply chain chain issues you have now and fulfill the orders you have in hand.
I have been waiting for mine since 10/21 with no order date in sight. Its nothing over the top. A Duramax with max trailer pkg, media upgrade w power console that already has been deleted.
Now from what I am seeing on this website the Duramax will not be available in the SUV’s for 2023
